The Snowball Effect

The Snowball Effect. What an appropriate term. I found this tree at a small, local hardware store. Not the kind of place you would expect to find such a beautiful treasure. Between the snow shovels and the grill covers. It was the only one of it's kind, fully decorated for the holidays & with a discreet little sign announcing it's sale price of $42.99. I left that first day without the tree. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I knew that it was the kind of tree any girl would be thrilled to have. I knew if Emma didn't want it, then I would be thrilled to have it in my studio. Sweet Hubby & I took Emma there the next day to introduce her to the tree. It appears I never stood a chance. She immediately claimed the tree. Unbidden, she named it snowball. She clearly gets that whole naming thing from her Mommy. She insisted that it sit next to her in the car. She wouldn't let me decorate it for a full day so that she could play with it. She hugs it every night before she goes to bed. She has plans to decorate it for Valentine's Day. And Easter. And Halloween. Something tells me that tree will never see the inside of a storage closet.

  6. For those of you who want to know the tree came from our local Fishers Do it Center. I'm sure that "Do it centers" are a chain as I recall having one in another small town I lived in. Good luck in your search. I also thought I'd mention that the pink balls you see at the end of the branches are cut up berry sprays that I added and are not part of the tree
