Croc Love

Well, here's the thing. I'm on a journey to lose 16 lbs and in order to keep myself motivated, I'm giving myself weekly rewards. These rewards are earned after accomplishing healthy goals & are things that I typically wouldn't do for myself. And let me say, it's working. I'm down 5 lbs in 2 weeks! This week's goal was to do 2 miles on the treadmill for at least 5 days and my reward is a pair of crocs that I have been coveting for a year. Yes Mom. I know they are ugly. But like our dog, Yukon, they are so ugly they're cute. So now I need your vote. Butter, Blue or Khaki. My summer "Mom Uniform" is khaki, denim & white shorts, skirts or capris with t-shirts. Boring, yes I know, but that's another post. Also, if you know much about Crocs, please tell me your opinion about the Cayman style versus the Beach style.

  1. What a great idea to have weekly rewards! I love my crocs too - mine are in black ... I wanted the Khaki ones but couldn't find them...so that would be my choice for your vote. Have you seen the Mary Jane style crocs? Very cute!

  2. Well, Jen...I'm with your mom, they're too ugly for me, but congrats on your weight loss & whatever it takes, right? LOL I vote for the Khaki...that would be the most versatile, maybe. I guess I just don't get the croc love going on now. It's rampant in my town too...I just shake my head. :)

  3. I votw for that pretty spring blue...because they are so ugly that they are cute, you want them to stand out a little bit, right?!

  4. I have several pairs of crocs, the Cayman, Islanders, prima and the flip flops. I give them as gifts and EVERY person wears them and loves them. I vote for the khaki, very versatile and won't show dirt !

  5. LOL Yes, I live in the birthplace of Crocs (Boulder) and the debate is always the same. I too thought (think) they are the ugliest shoes ever, but I still bought a pair like everyone else here. They are SUPER comfortable. I wear them mostly on weekends, in summer, at home and putzing around my garden, great for gardening because they clean SO easy. I can tell you that I have neutral colored ones (brown and black)and bright colored ones (blue and pink)and I ALWAYS reach for the bright ones! Also, the Beach model are more "low profile", on the Caymans there is more space between the top of your foot and the shoe. I can stick my finger in between the top of my foot and the shoe. They are "looser". Hope that helps!

  6. Oh but Jen, have you seen the maryjane crocs? Another must have! These are actually cute.

  7. Sorry I got the 2 reversed. Beach is the more roomy one. Cayman is more sleek.

  8. Jen, Probably I would go with the khaki since they're neutral but in honesty they're all so pretty it's hard to choose. I love the shades of the yellow & the blue, soft colors. Whichever you choose, you can't go wrong! :D

  9. My vote is for the blue...I haven't succumbed yet, but I hear they are super comfortable.

  12. I have blue ones that I absolutely love. So comfy. I'm not sure what style they are. I put them on once and I was sold. Wore them right out of the store.
    Enjoy that well deserved reward.

  13. Because the khaki ones would be so very practical, I say GO FOR BLUE! This is a reward after all! Have fun!! (Oh, and congrats on the weight loss too :)

  14. Hey!

    Way to go!

I love crocs and I choose the blue this week and the khaki when you make next week's goal :)

Afterall, a girl can never have too many crocs :)

Keep up the great work, girl!

  15. I love my crocs too, I'll agree they are ugly, but confortable. I got mine when I was working at the hospital. I have the Beach style in red. I think the main difference between the beach style and the cayman is the sizing, and a border indicating the difference. The original beach style are sized small(6-7), medium(8-9), etc and have a scalloped pattern. The cayman style has whole number sizes and no scallop. The picture of the shoes on your blog is the cayman style. I bought the beach based on the size b/c I was in b/w sizes. I think they sell the cayman style at Nordstrom and REI.

  18. Contrats on your weight loss! I have the butter crocs and love them. I got them about 2 years ago and the color goes with everything. Everyone in our family has a pair and we all love them. They are so comfy. My next croc purchase will be the mary janes...so so cute!!

  19. Noooo! Don't listen to the neutralies! Go for the blue the blue the blue....

I'd pick the red ones, actually, but that is just me.

  20. Jen, I think it's wonderful that you are rewarding yourself for your healthy choices. It's a great idea. As far as my vote, I think that khaki or blue would be most versitile, with khaki matching most anything. Not sure if that helps. Good luck - I'll be rooting for you!

  22. This is not the time to be practical, after all it IS a reward....so I vote for the buttah yellow! If you can't eat it at least you can wear it.
I have 3 pair of Crocs and they are all in sensible colors...next pair NOT. :)

  23. I have the blue ones, and think they are hideous, but I love them anyway :D :D You won't regret them!

  24. Well I originally thought they were ugly, but last summer my daughter wanted me to buy her a pair, and she chose PINK! She wears them whenever she can, and now those crocs have grown on me! I vote for the baby blue color! =)

  25. Thanks Jen for this idea of rewards in my own weight loss. Obviously that idea is working really good for you. I am going to try that this week for myself as well. Thanks for the encouragement post.

  26. The khaki would probably go with more, but the blue ones are darling!

    Congratulations on your weight loss!
    God bless!

  27. Try as I might I cannot dig these...I love them on others, but......

  28. OK, so I don't post on here often. Thank you, Rhoda! lol They are UGLY! If I were going to reward myself for losing weight (you go girl) it would be a lot better reward than that. :o) Yukon was, indeed, ugly but he was furry - are the crocs furry, too? lol Love you, sweetie.

  29. Have you seen the new Maryjane ones? They are super cute! I have a pink pair of Caymans and NEVER wear them because they are enormous and just too pink. If I was getting another pair, I'd get a neutral color. I only wear mine for yardwork now!

  30. I would go with the yellow! Yes, definitely the yellow!

    Congratulations on your weight loss!

  31. They aren't as popular here in Northern California but when I went to Martha's Vineyard last summer I couldn't believe how many people were wearing them. I hated them when they first came out but now they've grown on me and I think they are so cute. My vote is for the blue.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Definitely blue, then work out another week to give yourself a pair of cream. I love crocks!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Love the crocs... they just look so comfy! I would say the khaki or the blue. And you've inspired me... I'm going to reward myself when I reach goals too! lol I've started counting calories and jogging in the mornings. A reward may be just the thing to keep me going!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Jen, rewards help me, too. I just love those new spring colors! My son says that they are the most comfy things ever...and those colors make them cute!

  35. Oh my GOD! I call them my magic shoes. It may sound dumb, but not only did they help my knee, but they help keep my diabetes under control (I walk for exercise). I have 3 pair now, had to buy a basic black for funerals and formal occasions. I vote for the Khaki, but I think you should buy red instead...they are so cheerful!

  37. Jen:
I have the pink Mary Jane Crocs and I love them. I wear them around the house and think they are so comfortable. Every time I wear them out people tell me how cute they are. I dunno maybe it's cause I have small feet. Plan on getting more for the summer. Congrats on the weight loss. I so need to get my butt in gear!!

    Enjoy them!
