On My Way

It seems like lately all I'm good for are pictures of half finished projects. This one is slow going because it is hot as blazes out there and I can only work in the mornings. I have a delicate constitution you know. I love the way the fence is coming along. I have finished the front so from the road it looks done. Painting it the same color as the trim was absolutely the right choice. I still have to plant 4 new boxwood and 2 David Austin Abraham Darby climbing roses when it's finished. I will have competed pictures up by the beginning of next week. I swear. Many of you don't believe me. Many of you are waiting for completed pictures of Emma's room. Good luck with that. Wouldn't it be fabulous if I finished one project before starting the next? ADD anyone?

  2. "Good luck with that." Wasn't that a Denny line from Grey's Anatomy? I know the feeling...getting things done. I for sure have the ADD.

  9. Just think of the fence as half done! I actually painted a chair yesterday and got it all done. This is an accomplishment for me.

  10. Great, Jen, your fence is up & you're painting already. That was pretty quick work. Painting it is no fun. I know it's going to be beautiful with roses growing all over it. Congrats!

  12. You're so funny! There's nothing like a white painted picket fence. In fact I have a portion of one in front of our HUGE fireplace inside! And I love it!

  16. Jen, thank you for the sweet comment you left on my blog. I'm sorry if I'm making you homesick, and I agree that the city is definitely a mixed bag. My work underscores the rougher side of things, so I think that I tend to immerse myself in the beauty and good/positive side in my off-time to counteract that. I'm glad that you enjoy seeing the photos. If there is a certain area you'd love to see, please let me know. We are photo junkies. :)

BTW, I still owe you a summer recipe. I have a fun, super-easy one that my family loves...this week has just been crazy! I'll try to make it this weekend, so that you can see a photo, too.

    xoxo,

    Andrea

  19. Oh, Jen, I hear you with started projects that take forever to complete. That's the story of my life and I'm sure some must think I never finish anything, lol! But life must be lived in between all of our projects, right? The fence looks wonderful! How charming! Keep up the great work and don't worry about how long it takes you - have fun with it! (I know, easier said than done!)

  20. Hi Jen - trying to catch up with everyone who's left such nice comments for me. Having company is fun but sure makes a dent in one's personal time, especially getting blog time!
I'm giggling at your painting (the room) shenanigans and hope you can get it completed soon - where is poor little Emma, under those drop cloths?

  22. Hey, ADD is a gift!!! Think how dull life would be if you were't doing so many wonderful projects. Sounds like you world is wonderfully full!
I often work on many, many projects at one time and they seem to cross-pollinate each other, making the other project even better! Sometimes they seem to take forever, but they do get done in good time.
Good luck with the fence. I think it looks great 2-toned anyway! Your pictures are always so beautiful.

  26. I am constantly starting projects without finishing the last one so you're not alone. I really love the look of the fence so far though. That type of cute picket fence is my favourite.
