Fall is in the Air

I awoke this morning to the smell of fall. The air outside is crisp and if I close my eyes, I imagine I can smell apples and pumpkins, the acrid smell of burning leaves, a roast in the oven and a cup of hot chocolate sitting on top of a stack of books that wait to be read in front of a roaring fire. Can you imagine it? I have some pictures to help you.

These are my favorite books for autumn inspiration.

Thank you all for all of the wonderful tips for getting old smells out of old things. Can you guess where I will be this morning? Yes, out looking for more old smelly things! May the mojo live on.

  1. After a post like that, I'm feelin' it!! Our fall "feel" is gone (it was replaced by hot humid weather), but I can't wait for its return.
My all-time favourite decorating book is Seasonal Home (the book on the left). I am a huge Seasons of Cannon Falls fan and this book was like a dream come true when I found it.
I can just picture you with your feet up, sipping that cup of hot cocoa. Wish it were me!!

  9. My goodness...I was there with the heavenly fragrance of apples and a roast in the oven getting ready to sip some chocolate and recline by a lovely fire. What a fabulous moment it was, too.

We are still running the AC and Broiling under the heat of the Texas sun...Thanks for the glimpse of Fall!

  11. Hi Jen...we have delightful 77 degrees(F)at just after noon! Warm temps to return sometime over the weekend. I'll take these 70's while I can, though!

I love that mirror arrangement. I can't do it here, because of the glass door. Wish I could.
