Jen's Favorite Things

I thought I'd share with you a list of my favorite things, Oprah style. These are things I'm using regularly and loving. Things I think each of you should get for yourself.
1. Sassy new Spring haircut. This is another example of why you should not take your own picture but I wanted to show it to you while you still cared. I'm loving the ease of it. It looks great straight too but I feel more me when my hair is curly.
2. Bath and Body Works Body Cream in your favorite scent. I prefer the ones that just smell fresh and clean. This stuff works great on those winter distressed feet.
3. Monogram mug from Anthropologie. There is a curvier girl version but I prefer this beefed up one.

4. The All Out Of notepad from Anthropologie. I swear this pad has made my list making and grocery shopping easier.
5. 7 Days a Week pad from Anthropologie. Have you figured out yet that I'm a list maker? Love this for having 1 place to plan the whole weeks projects and errands.
6. Method foaming hand wash in Sweet Water. I first tried this at my friend Carrie's house and it was love at first pump. I now have one by every sink in the house. Total addiction. You can find this at Target.

7. Dark chocolate. What took me so long to discover this healthy indulgence? I keep a bag of dark chocolate Hershey Kisses hidden in the pantry and treat myself to 2 of them after lunch almost every day. Savor them. Let them melt in your mouth. Then celebrate making a healthy choice.

8. Great Point Spike Book Light. For those times that I wake up in the middle of the night and can't sleep, now I can snuggle up to Sweet Hubby and read without ever disturbing him.

9. Copco Tea Kettle. Why shouldn't having tea or cocoa feel like an event? There is something about hearing a kettle whistle that gives me instant comfort.

10. Mrs. Meyers Counter Spray in Lemon Verbena. I'm slowly trying to go green with my cleaners. I love all the Mrs. Meyers products that I've tried so far. These smell so fresh and clean, perfect for spring.
I'd love to hear what's on your list. If you post it on your own blog, please leave me a comment here so that I can check out your favorites too.

  1. Hi Jen :)
Thank you for coming by my blog. Yes, we live by your relatives in Delaware. Most people from Columbus think it's dorky, but I'm crazy about it. I think I will post a list of favorites too and I'll let you know when I do :) I need to get over to Anthropologie and get that mug! I've coveting it for a few days now. I also have a "thing" for all Mrs. Meyer's stuff and I get the update emails from them. My favorite is the Lavender scent.. yum! I'm off to check out the other stuff you mentioned...
    Thanks,
    Rue :)

  6. Love the new haircut! Looks great. Did you find the 7-day pad at the local store? I have 4 more weeks left on my "fill-in-the-blank" calendar and can't find another one!

You had asked when we might be moving...IF dh's interview goes well next week (YAY!) and they actually offer him the position we are looking at mid-summer most likely.

  20. What a great list.

I have something completely dorky to say!

    The booklight?

In 1988, I took a creative writing course in high school, and one of our assignments were to invent something.

I invented a book "jacket" that clipped down your book and had a bendy light over it. My teacher gave me an A+ and wrote at the top, you should patent this.

    sigh,

no, this is NOT the story of the post-it note guy.

I didn't patent it, someone else did, 2 years later, now they are happy, and I am.... sad?

    tee hee

    fun story to tell though!

    I love the haircut!

  25. Hi there! Just happened across your blog today. Very cute and I like your hair. I wanted to let you know that my new favorite Bath & Body Works scent is Freshwater Cucumber. It is very clean smelling. In fact, I rarely wear perfume and bought this one.

  26. Hello! I just found your blog and must say it's so inspiring! I can't wait to try the foaming hand wash! My personal favorite has been discontinued from Bath and Body so I'm glad to have a back-up plan! And dark chocolate? Me. Oh. My! Can't live without it! Thanks for letting me pop in!

  28. I love the haircut, Jen! I had to laugh when I saw all the Meg Ryan shots....I do the same thing when I go for a haircut. There's just something easy and free about Meg Ryan's hair--and mine has the same texture, too. You've inspired me to go get it cut for spring!! I'm going to head to Target to get some of that Method hand soap...I love the bottle! If it smells as good as it looks, I'm all set!! Hee!
