He Loves Me, He Loves Me More

When you were a little girl, did you ever destroy a flower by playing the he loves me, he loves me not game? Well, if there is one thing I know for sure, it is that my Sweet Hubby loves me. The thing is, apparently there are times when I'm more lovable than others. Now, I know this probably surprises you all because, seriously, I'm so charming that I must be 100% lovable all of the time. Right? Well, here's the thing, when the weather starts to turn and there is a hint of autumn in the air, my man totally.loves.me.more. He can't get enough of me, he laughs at all of my jokes, he can't walk by me without copping a feel, he wants to snuggle with me constantly. When it's hot out it's all I can do to get him to pause ESPN long enough to hear me say that dinner is ready. Well, I exaggerate. Kind of. So you can imagine my excitement that we have enjoyed high temps in the 70's for the last 4 days, especially since it was just in time for the girls to start school yesterday. Cue the gratuitous 1st day of school pics of the kiddos.

I swear to you that all of the pictures I have of Maddie in the last 2 years are blurry. She cannot sit still long enough to let me take a decent picture. It's like I'm actually torturing her. The only way I ever see a good pic of her is to look at her facebook account. Apparently she has no such problems posing for those pictures.

Nancy Drew is that you? Emma did slightly better before she darted off ready for her 1st day of school.

See you later mom, I'm outta here! But wait kiddo I'm not ready for you girls to leave me yet. It was the best summer ever and I'm not even tired of you yet. Can't we wait to start school when I'm ready?

I know girl, I miss them too.

  5. My very favorite comercial was the one done by Office Depot where the parents are skipping and jumping behind a shopping basket - disgruntled kids all around. The music playing is "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year." ..citing school starting up again!

  14. Your girls are beautiful. The funny thing about the flowers are, that my daughter DESTROYS so many of my beautiful rose blooms and such. Now I know what my mom went through with me. I think if you have a little girl beware of flower pickers.

  16. great post, even if a little (a lot) bittersweet! it makes me sad to think of my daughter, currently 3 1/2 months, starting school and growing further & further away from me. right now, I'm her whole world, and even though she will always be my whole world, I will not always be hers. how do you get over that?

Your girls are adorable and it's clear that you treasure these moments with them (and with their feel-copping father, too - hee!). They are lovely, lively and sparkling spirits.

Love your staircase, too, BTW. I just had mine redone and I think yours was one of several that inspired me.

  26. Your children so cute even if they are moving around quickly and don't like posing for pictures. Love to hear about your husband and how he gives you special attention - bring on autumn!
