Holiday Recap

I know you've probably all moved on but I wanted to get this last post in and a trip to North Carolina and lots of family time has kept me very busy. I was not ready for Christmas to be over this year, which is very unusual for me. I am trying to get into the spirit of the new year now and have been cleaning and organizing like a maniac. It feels so great.

We had a wonderful holiday filled with lots of this

and this

and a fair amount of creating too. As usual I didn't get nearly as much of it done as I had wanted to. This is actually a project that I started last Christmas. Looking at it, you might think that I was drinking when I made it but I've decided that the crookedness adds character and gives it a more authentically handmade quality. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

There were lots of thoughtful gifts, some from Anthropologie (yippee!) and several on my wish list. There were lots of surprises, happiness and most important, thankfulness. I hope you all had wonderful holidays filled with love and laughter and I'm looking forward to catching up with all of you next Tuesday when life gets back to normal in our house.

  1. Hey there....I'm taking a break from putting away my Christmas decorations and sat down at the computer for a few minutes to see what everyone else is doing.

I LOVE the project...I think it's precious and the little crookedness adds to the character.

Looks like the holidays were great for your family and there's NOTHING like GOOD HUGS!

    Happy New Year! Susan

  9. Totally love the project and the fact that you didn't use traditional Christmas colors on your advent calendar. The crookedness adds a certain homey charm to it. I wouldn't change a thing.
