Nesting

Lately all I seem to want to do is nest. Are you feeling that way too? Today, I'm puttering in the kitchen, organizing the linen closet, vacuuming, cleaning window sills and making everything tidy. What's your favorite way to feather your nest?

  1. Me too! I wonder if it's a spring thing. I just want everything clean, organized and pretty...maybe so that when summer gets here I can play, play, play :).

  2. I have been doing a good bit of "nesting" around here too...we have had a lot of rainy, gloomy days so I have used that time to get things done around the house. When it is sunny and warm I just want to be out and about enjoying the weather!

  3. I have a feeling I will be doing lots of nesting when I go home for a visit on Saturday. I miss my cottage and my critical eye will notice everything that my husband has somehow missed in his daily cleaning! (Because, let's face it - he can clean but not as well as me!) It will be fun! I will definitely be fluffing and dusting and rearranging.

  4. I get in those "nesting" moods too. Right now though, I just want to go outside! I love when we have these sunny spring days and we can get out of here for some fresh air. When I'm in a nesting mood, I get a lot done though. Usually I scrapbook or organize something.

  5. Yah I've been nesting. I usually nest by shopping for new things for my nest haha.

    All the best,

  7. I want to nest, but I haven't been doing it. What is my problem? Today we were outside playing all evening. It was awesome to have 70 degree weather in upstate NY!

  9. Jen I love to nest too. Today I got my sunporch all fixed up for Spring. We had so much pollen this year that I had to take everything off the porch and clean it all up. Made new cushions and pillows and spray painted my wicker. Then I redid all the accessories. So many projects to do yet but so little time. RJ

  10. I've been doing some rearranging and redecorating but the nesting thing...ah yes...that's a little different. That comes on me when we start to get those nice breezy spring days. Makes me want to fling open all the windows. Clean the windows and let the sunshine and fresh air in. Hang the sheets and towels outside instead of using the dryer. Spruce up the screened porch....I can't wait for that nesting feeling. The weather is just not cooperating. The gloomy weather we've been having up north here is having a hard time letting go. I'm so needing that spring fever!!

  12. The weather here has been so back and forth that the nesting hasn't hit me yet, but this post really started me thinking! Maybe next week while I have the house to myself and quiet!

  13. I think the onset of spring makes us be like the birds and nest for sure. I tend to clean out cupboards, toss out things that have passed expiry dates (or just expired period!) and re-organize and re-arrange. It's a time to put the inertia of winter behind us and prepare for the regrowth ahead!
