What I'm Crushing on this Week- Wheels

Thou shalt not covet. Thou shalt not covet. Thou shalt not covet.

I so desperately want a bike like this. I have a cruiser. And it already has an adorable bicycle basket that I got from Martha by Mail back in the day. And it's shapely and has good bones. Really it's only fault is that it fails to be some shade of blue. Preferably robin's egg blue. So really why am I coveting these bikes?

On top of that, I don't even live in the kind of area where I can ride my bicycle to town to shop. Oh that I lived in a little character filled village like Stars Hollow from my all time favorite show Gilmore Girls. I would ride around on my cruiser with my piggy tail braids and buy organic fruit and french bread and lovely cheeses and wonderful wines. I would carry them all home and assemble the most wonderful meals for my perfect family. My children would never disobey me or talk back to me and my husband would give me sweet kisses every time he walked through the door and then he would present me with sweet gifts just to show me he was thinking about me.
See why I need one of these bikes? See how perfect my life would be if I had one? See how my happiness hinges on it?

  1. Love the bikes. A friend and I just visited Florida and rode bikes all over the neighborhood picking fruit (with permission) from the neighbors. It was amazing!

  2. Someone in the neighborhood had the top one in orange and I turn a delicate shade of green every time I see it!

  3. My hubby and I have cruisers and we ride them all over town. Mine is blue with a darling basket hubby put on for me. Your blog is fun. Stop by ours sometime, I share it with my sis.

  4. I've been telling my husband I want a cruiser, too. My vision of riding it is a lot like yours...too bad I live in Chicago and not Provence!

ps. I still have copies of Martha By Mail!

  9. I adore your post! It was so true, and I wish I had a bucket cruiser too, that I could go to the shops in. I love your little hint of Lorelai Gilmore too, you know how she talks nonstop and on and on and on etc. Hee hee.
We are moving and I hope to get a new bike when we get there too, so I can cruise around the neighborhood delivering homemade cookies and inviting neighbors in for coffee.
Maybe a new cruiser would do all that....

This has me just cracking up for some reason. I LOVE the bike. I bet it doesn't hurt your butt when you ride on it either.

  11. My favorite is the third one and you are right about the blue color...nice for a bike!! I also LOVED the Julia Child movie!! I went straight out and bought her cookbook. Now I must find the time and courage to make something great from it.

  13. I KNOW!!! I need that bucket bike. I have a GREAT place to ride it, no place to keep it....why, oh why, is it always something? It costs more than my first car, and it's prettier. I neeeeeed it!

  14. If you need it, you need it. You don't have to justify it to yourself, if you need it, and can afford it, just get it. Life is too short!!

  15. Oh you're gonna hate me. I actually have a robin's egg blue beach cruiser. It doesn't have a basket though, and like you, I don't have anywhere to ride it. Ahh, if only every neighborhood was like Stars Hollow.

  16. I want a cruiser so badly! After my hubby and I spent a few days biking around Mackinac Island on rented cruisers, I was hooked! I'd like a pink or blue one....not really many places to ride them here either, though. My neighbor has a fantabulous pale yellow trike with a huge basket for her dog...said she got it at Shipshewana Flea Market for $100. Hmmmmm....
