The Unexpected

If I had to name the last few weeks, I would name it Expect the Unexpected.

Case in point, last week a new friend, we'll call her CrazyblogstalkerSusie and I decided to meet at the Village coffee shop and then go for a walk through town. After our lovely stroll-about-town C.B.S. Susie presented me with these gorgeous plates that go perfectly with my newly covered kitchen table. Very unexpected! Thank you so much C.B.S. Susie. This picture just doesn't do them justice but when you read the rest of this post you'll see why I'm too tired to take another picture.

Then my washing machine broke down and I had to have it repaired.

Then my heater started acting crazy and I had to have it repaired.
Then I received this lovely surprise in the mail from generous and talented Elyse. I know, right? No clue what I did to deserve this but I'm happy I did it! So at this point I'm thinking my lucks-a-changing. Right? Ahem. No.

Then on a routine dental visit I'm informed that Maddie aka Million-Dollar-Mouth Maddie has to have her wisdom teeth out. This picture is my revenge for that. If you knew my eldest and what a drama queen and known faker she is, you would have complete sympathy for me.

Then I found a nail in Sweet Hubby's almost completely flat tire.

Then Sweet Hubby drove off in his newly-patched-tire car with our cordless phone on top of his trunk. It was never heard from again.

Then whilst (that was for you Shannan) having Pomegranate Margaritas with two of the best neighbors in the world, my youngest fell off her playset. I sobered up in the E.R. I'm just kidding. I only had one before she took her nosedive. The poor sweet girl is now sporting a cast and a sling and spent the most boring day of her life at home with Mommy today. Hopefully we'll get good news at the doctor tomorrow. At this point we aren't expecting it!

Then we came home from the hospital to find that our computer is apparently infected with an XP Defender virus. So if I disappear for awhile you'll know either the virus took over or I'm hiding in my bed.

I wanted to hurry up and post this before April Fools Day so that there would be no mistaking this story for anything other than my real life.

  10. Should have stayed in bed.

Glad your baby girl is going to be okay. Surely you've embroidered her sling by now.

And Maddie...it's cool to get your wisdom teeth out. You get to stay in bed for a couple of days and drink milkshakes.

  18. Oh no! I passed my abysmal luck from last month on to you! How on earth did that happen? 5,000 bonus points for the use of "whilst", though. Now, if only those bonus points could be exchanged for cash. ;)

ps- I know I only met MadGirl once, but I dug her. I do believe you though, about the drama and the fakerness. Still, she oozed personality. And she's cute like her Mama!

  20. AW, hang in there! On a positive note...when my daughter had her wisdom teeth out, she barely had to take any pain meds. After 1-2 days, she felt fine.
