Gettin' My Craft On

I've been thinking a lot lately about how much I miss taking time to be creative. I've been in a bit of a funk with it this past year but I'm ready to break free and get my craft on. Be prepared to see more of that around here. For me it's all part of being a cottage style, vintage lovin' freak. I'm feeling inspired to make some ornaments like my Momma made when I was a little girl. Sadly my share of them got lost in our move to Miami several years ago. The one above I recently found at a thrift store.

If you want to get inspired to get your craft on for the holiday season, go check out Amy Powers Inspired Ideas online magazine. I'm making this wreath by one of my favorite crafty ladies, Charlotte Lyons, right away.

On another note, thank you all for your support and for sharing your own stories on my last post. It meant a lot to me.

  1. I hear you! If you read my latest post you'll see I have been in a crafty funk as well...I tend to be more crafty in the winter when I am stuck indoors more :)

  2. I've been thinking I need to do the same. I am so busy sometimes I get lost in schedules and work. I need a little "me" time in the studio. Nothing soothes the soul like a glue gun, some tunes and a drawers of trinkets and treasures! ;o)

    Happy day!

  6. I have several that my hubby's grandmother made...a lot like yours. We hang them every year and think about her. She was always crafting something. I too have been in a NO TIME TO CRAFT funk...seems like life just gets in the way sometime. Will be fun to see what you come up with! hugs-Diana

  9. I adore that ornament. My grandma was always crafting... remember she was the Christmas house lady. Always sequins and a Lee Ward catalog on the table. I wish my mom would abandon the sequined fruit G'ma made. I told her I want dibs! Luckily my 3 sisters aren't into any of it!!
I am needing some craft time too. Coffee, music and lots of my stuff-Just feels so good to get lost in it!

    Have a fabulous evening girl!
