Dishing Up Some Happy

I'm enjoying this new slower paced life. The only house project I worked on all weekend was organizing my studio and let me tell you, if I said that was really work, I'd be lying. I'm locking myself in there for the next few days. If the sun will cooperate, I hope to get pictures of the Christmas and creative explosion that is happening in there.

Until then I thought I'd share pictures of one of our favorite Sunday morning meals. I got this Hello Kitty waffle maker at Target a few years ago. They usually sell them around Christmas. Somehow getting in touch with your inner adolescent makes waffles taste better. Clearly I was deprived as a child.

Emma and her friend Azumi always request these during their regular sleepovers. These girls have a lot of major differences. One likes her waffles face up, one likes hers face down. One likes her strawberry on her plate, one likes hers on the side. One spoke almost no English when they first became friends a few years ago and one spoke almost no Japanese. Like all good friends, they overcame those differences.

We love happy food served on happy dishes in this house. Even a certain Daddy that lives here gets very excited for Hello Kitty waffles. He will even eat them off of flower plates without a second thought. Just a little insight as to why I love him so much.

  1. Oh I love the HK appliances :) One year I really lucked out when they were 75% off. We scored the waffle iron, toaster and juicer for a total of $15 :)

I saw a recipe on Pinterest where you put cinnamon roll dough in your waffle iron. I am soo trying that!

    Those plates are adorable!
