The Table

I've got this friend, Sarah. We actually met through this blog. She has become more than a friend to me over the last couple of years, she's more like an adorable little sister.

(I love fuzzy focus and that in this shot you can't tell there is a heap of slipcovers on my ottoman that I bought on Craigslist without checking to see if they'd fit t-shaped cushions. Brilliant, right?)

Recently she started a business, Elizabeth Gray, selling refinished furniture and other great finds. I was happy to let her experiment on my beat-to-a-scratchy-mess coffee table. She took what had become an eyesore and made it prettier than it's ever been. Since we are a feet up kind of family she knew distressing was the way to go.

I love it so much. Now I'm looking around my house at all of the other furniture that needs a coat of paint and I'm wondering what I can drag to her house next, because I'm pretty sure I've mentioned over and over again that I HATE to paint furniture.

You can go to her Facebook page and see the amazing things she's creating and if you're anywhere close to the Indianapolis area it would be worth your time to come see her at the Indie Arts and Vintage Marketplace this Monday, Sept 3rd (changed from Saturday Sept 1st due to hurricane weather headed our way). I can't wait to go!

I'm so proud of you Sis! Keep following your dreams!

  12. I think the color and the shape of the table work well in your house.
She did a great job with it. Do you do anything in the Fall/winter months for your porch that has the day bed?
