Although I did clean in preparation for my mom's arrival, it's good to not let yourself slip into a bad routine, which I seem to be letting happen lately. Hope the cleaning went well. I do have a cleaning tip. To clear up cloudy glassware, use warm water, a bit of dish soap, and coarse salt. The salt helps to clean away the build up of hard water residue. This really does work, and I just did it yesterday on a chrystal cut glass bowl - very old. It worked perfectly.

allie
www.mycozyhome.typepad.comAllisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08794419874235461398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36124766.post-48358427609518262362007-04-28T10:45:00.000-04:002007-04-28T10:45:00.000-04:00Hi Jen~ I followed a few of the ladies over to you...Hi Jen~ I followed a few of the ladies over to you..and I'm so glad I did! What a lovely way to spend a day (or week!), dusting off winters cobwebs and inviting spring in.
I always use vinegar and newspaper to clean my windows, and a mix of essential oils and diluted washing-up liquid to clean floors - smells yummy.
Another tip is to soak a cotton wool ball in lavender and lemon essential oils and pop it in your hoover bag - it really makes your home smell wonderful.
Oh dear I seem to have gone a bit cleaning mad.
Victoria xVictoria May Plumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17763403790554172946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36124766.post-8087453064223543872007-04-24T15:02:00.000-04:002007-04-24T15:02:00.000-04:00Hi Jen! They remind me of the "good home company"goodies from a few years ago. Anyway, the shore line smells wonderful (i'm very picky, hate room sprays & most scented candles)...they have linen spray, dryer sheets, everything! but my favorite the shore allpurpose spray cleaner, use it in my kitchen all the time. I also love their meyer lemon hand soap & lotion. Of course it comes in the cute silver duo holder which looks great on your counter. They have citrus, lavender, cucumber...oh they are all wonderful!
Happy cleaning!paigehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12470201808290045840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36124766.post-34987727032724554372007-04-24T08:57:00.000-04:002007-04-24T08:57:00.000-04:00I am so glad you got the Kaki Crocs. I'll try to find my "recipe") that was shared by a window cleaner in an article our local paper. He used a sponge/squeegee combination to clean, and then newspaper to remove excess moisture.

Hmmmm...I'm *almost* in the mood to clean now... ;)Southern Hearthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14672687626606973967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36124766.post-35883230965624477652007-04-23T14:32:00.000-04:002007-04-23T14:32:00.000-04:00Spring cleaning? My daffodils & tulips have come and gone already!

My favorite cleaning tip would be to use white vinegar and baking soda to clean alot of things instead of buying commercial cleaners. 1 cup of vinegar to 1 cup of water makes a very effective all purpose cleaner. I add a little dish soap to that to clean the insides of bathroom sinks and it's great for getting rid of bathtub rings and baking soda is a natural abrasive.

ManuelaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
