This is my study & one of my favorite spots in the house. It is where I get to spend time with all of you, so of course I love it! I designed this wall of built-ins and had my favorite Amish carpenter build them 2 years ago. I love finally having a place to keep all of my books. It's like my very own Barnes and Noble. There are 3 sections to the built-ins with the left and right being identical & having cabinets on the bottom. The left one holds computer equipment and software and the one on the right holds puzzles, games and toys. The middle section is left open at the bottom & is where we have the computer. This has worked out so well for us. This room is now a destination for our family and a pleasure to spend time in.
I wanted to post these pictures for Kim over at One Woman's Cottage Life who just picked this same color for her kitchen. It is Sherwin Williams Hearts of Palm and in my opinion is the perfect pear/apple green without being too lime. It looks great in all light and at all times of day. In my house this room faces West. Even my mother, who really dislikes green, likes it. Either that or she was being polite.
Wonderful pictures of your "little corner". I love the colour. Your built-ins are gorgeous (I recognize a few books from my own wall unit)- our kitchen table was built by an Amish carpenter and the attention to detail is amazing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful little corner of the world you have for an office...and to have all the book shelfs is a big plus. I like the idea of it being built in and every thing matching. Very good decorating my friend.
ReplyDeletetoo funny... the whole time I was reading your post... I was wondering what color that green was... and I am not usually a green person... love the room and those cabinets are fabulous. You did a great job !
ReplyDeleteOh, Jen, I just love that color! LOL! It's *so* funny that I picked that shade - I've been pouring over colors for a year now and decided to go into Sherwin Williams for the first time on Thursday. Brought home tons of green swatches and after much deliberation, decided on that exact lovely shade! I painted a sample on Friday and just love it. It's so nice seeing it painted on a whole wall in your office. It looks great with that beautiful built in, too. Thanks for sharing! It makes me want to paint my kitchen *now*!
ReplyDeleteLove the clean ~fresh~ look to this well designed corner!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shelves, you can never have too many shelves.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful corner of your home, Jen.

This special green really looks fab, but I'm quite more impressed by the gorgeous white built in wall that you have desingned your self. Wow it looks fantastic, love it!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty pictures! I have been wanting to change the color in my office...looks like I have just added a new color to mix.
ReplyDeleteThose walls are such a gorgeous colour. Love the shelves too. It all looks so tidy and organised.
ReplyDeleteIt's all so tidy and in order and what luxury to have an Amish carpenter on hand - only the best.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Ginny
