Once Upon a Crush

By the end of this post there is going to be no doubt in your minds about just how strange I am. Do any of you watch Once Upon a Time? We do. It is one of the few shows on that we can enjoy as a family. Aside from the story lines that have us coming back for more every week, it has a few other things going for it.

There is Mary Margaret played by Gennifer Goodwin. I have had a girl crush on her since way back and now with this role it has been cemented. Also, she has my wardrobe. She's all cute hats, cardigans, peter pan collars and girly clothes. In fact, I'm going to try to find a pattern to knit a hat like the one below. So I can be like Mary Margaret. See what I mean?

I also love her house. It's all vintage and rustic and mismatched and cozy.

I could move right into that place.

Apparently she likes to bake happy food and keeps things in blue ball jars. It's like we are practically twins!

Also, she's a creative girl and enjoys her hand sewing. You're seeing it now too, aren't you?

So there you have it. Did you ever imagine I was that strange? You're nodding your head aren't you?

Crushing On

Today I am crushing on:

These Union Jack Pillows made by friend Sarah and available for purchase here because they are awesome and I'm all about England (and France) right now.

The number #42 and  The paper Rose  because she is the winning commenter for my C&R giveaway.
The movie Bottle Shock. It's currently at the top of my favorite list. Be sure to have some good wine and perhaps a cheese tray when you watch it. You've been warned.

Ginnifer Goodwin because she is just so adorable and classy. Also she makes me want to be brave and cut my hair off.

The Food Network show Dessert First. Love the kitchen, food and her and can't wait for the new season.

And last but not least, house hunting because it looks like I am seeing 2 houses this weekend and I'm determined to move by the end of April.

What are you crushing on today?

What I'm Crushing On- Summer Style

This picnic basket from here. I'm sure the shipping costs a fortune so if you order one will you get an extra for me?

from Basic French $25 These can be used as shawls, picnic blankets or even table linens. And such a reasonable price. I want one in each color. Not so economical now, is it?

Also from Basic french is this Enamel Thermometer, $26 for the large. Here's a little secret about me. I'm obsessed with the weather. I want an Iphone just so I can have a weather app. I'm not even sure what a weather app is but I think I need one. I want to stare out my kitchen window at that thermometer while I wash dishes. But I don't own that thermometer or have a window at my kitchen sink. It seems cruel, doesn't it?

A Meyer Lemon Tree. Sure it will need to be brought inside during the winter but it's well worth the trouble.
Because mini anything is better than it's full size counterpart, this Lattice Pocket Pie Mold from Williams Sonoma $9.95.

From Garnet Hill the Lovebirds Pillow. I'm trying to imagine a life in which I would spend $78 for a pillow. Nope, can't do it.
From Anthropologie the Comedy of Manners Mug $10. I have a mug thing. Also a bowl thing. Anthro is a dangerous place for a girl like me.

I have a huge crush on the Flower Farm Measuring cups also from Anthro $28.

Speaking of Flowers and Farms, I'm headed out this morning with the little one to visit one of my favorite girls, Shannan from Flower Patch Farmgirl.

Sadly, due to a smoke detector malfunction I have been up since 4 and Little Bit has been up since 5. We have a drive ahead of us and I'm wishing I was a coffee drinker. Of course I'd drink it out of that Anthro cup.

What I'm Crushing on this Week- Fall Anthropologie Style

Nobody does fall quite like Anthro.

I would imagine that even those of you that don't like the brisk weather could get excited about wearing these.

If only I had an endless amount of money to spend in that store.

But I could be happy with any one of these I think.

Though I think I may be happiest with this one and I just may be headed there today to see if I'm right...

What I'm Crushing on this Week- Wheels

Thou shalt not covet. Thou shalt not covet. Thou shalt not covet.

I so desperately want a bike like this. I have a cruiser. And it already has an adorable bicycle basket that I got from Martha by Mail back in the day. And it's shapely and has good bones. Really it's only fault is that it fails to be some shade of blue. Preferably robin's egg blue. So really why am I coveting these bikes?

On top of that, I don't even live in the kind of area where I can ride my bicycle to town to shop. Oh that I lived in a little character filled village like Stars Hollow from my all time favorite show Gilmore Girls. I would ride around on my cruiser with my piggy tail braids and buy organic fruit and french bread and lovely cheeses and wonderful wines. I would carry them all home and assemble the most wonderful meals for my perfect family. My children would never disobey me or talk back to me and my husband would give me sweet kisses every time he walked through the door and then he would present me with sweet gifts just to show me he was thinking about me.
See why I need one of these bikes? See how perfect my life would be if I had one? See how my happiness hinges on it?

What I'm Crushing On this Week- School Supplies

Summer for my girls is more than half over already so naturally my mind begins to turn to thoughts of school supplies. Mostly these are school supplies I want for myself. Frankly, my favorite part of going to school was the supplies and I never outgrew that.

Who I'm Crushing on this Week- Alicia Paulson

You guys know who Alicia Paulson is right? Miss Posie Gets Cozy herself? If not, please head over to her blog and check it out. I promise you will be inspired in one way or another. Her blog is one of the first I started following and then when her book Stitched in Time came out, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Love it. She also occasionally offers kits for sale on her website and I was so excited to get her Felt Holiday Ornament Kit during the holidays and when I saw her Friendly Bird Kit for sale I had to jump on it too. I first remember seeing the birds in an article about her in Hallmark Magazine. I bought that issue simply because of her and that bird. So since I'm totally crushing on it & I love to share, I thought I'd tell you about it too. You and I both know when I show you pictures of mine after I make them, you are gonna wish you had some of your own. Happy weekend little chicks.

What I'm Crushing On this Week

So many times I have things I want to share with you that might now warrant an entire post so I've decided to occasionally share with you things that I've gotten and love, or something I would love to get, or even just something I think you will enjoy. It could be a new product, website, blog or anything. It will definitely be something I'm crushing on.

The possibility of winning this giveaway at one of my favorite new blogs. Kasey rocks. I'm newly inspired every time I visit her. This girl has style in spades.

These vintage pictures I recently bought at the Etsy shop, From the Pines. You can find more here. She has great prices and as a bonus, she's a sweetie to work with.

This book that I recently read. I loved every single beautiful word of it and it made me almost physically ache to be in France. I will read it again and again and there aren't many books I can say that about.

This light from Marston & Langinger. At $425, I totally can't afford it but maybe you can. If not, dreaming is free, right?
