Once Upon a Crush
By the end of this post there is going to be no doubt in your minds about just how strange I am. Do any of you watch Once Upon a Time? We do. It is one of the few shows on that we can enjoy as a family. Aside from the story lines that have us coming back for more every week, it has a few other things going for it.
There is Mary Margaret played by Gennifer Goodwin. I have had a girl crush on her since way back and now with this role it has been cemented. Also, she has my wardrobe. She's all cute hats, cardigans, peter pan collars and girly clothes. In fact, I'm going to try to find a pattern to knit a hat like the one below. So I can be like Mary Margaret. See what I mean?
I also love her house. It's all vintage and rustic and mismatched and cozy.
I could move right into that place.
Apparently she likes to bake happy food and keeps things in blue ball jars. It's like we are practically twins!
Also, she's a creative girl and enjoys her hand sewing. You're seeing it now too, aren't you?
So there you have it. Did you ever imagine I was that strange? You're nodding your head aren't you?

ReplyDeleteNo, not strange at all.....because if you are, I am too -lol. She is adorable. I love her hair style.
ReplyDeleteWe love love love that show too. I dream of having her hair and looking that cute with it. Unfortunately the one time I tried it it didn't look cute on me - I just looked rather manly. Sigh!
ReplyDeleteI just got done watching last nights episode!! It's a favorite and I have even spent time online searching for more pictures of her house. I've noticed a few Anthro items in the decor and you're right she is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to watch the show now. You could be her twin!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that show! I think Mary Margaret is sublime! She is vintage just like I am. The show rocks and I hope it lasts.

ReplyDeleteWe adore that show, especially my 10 year old daughter. I think I'd be more like Emma though, all jeans & boots.
ReplyDeleteHow have you never told me about this show? Nick says it's part of our Hulu season pass so now I'm super excited!
ReplyDeleteI can sure relate! I have never watched that show or even heard of it! I will have to check it out because it sounds like my cup of tea!

ReplyDeleteI love your blog. I am a new follower. xx
Jen, you are just way too cute! I feel like that about "You've Got Mail". I want to be Meg Ryan's character, own a charming children's book store and live in her absolutely fabulous brownstone apartment. I only watched the first episode of this show, but it sounds like I need to give it another chance after your post today. :o)
ReplyDeleteLoved her as Marge in Big Love! So sad that it's over :(
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look into this one. Is it on Hulu?

ReplyDeleteI'm with you, JJ!
ReplyDeleteI just got back from an 11 day trip, and Once Upon A Time was the first show I watched on my DVR. Mary Margaret is a doll and if she and Prince Charming don't get it together very soon, I may pop a gasket. Also, I'm a little obsessed with Emma's hair. Such a fun show.
ooh! i haven't watched that show but can totally see why you would have a girl crush on GG. i might have to transfer my 'meg ryan as kathleen in YGM' over! :)
ReplyDeleteshe has an adorable haircut, too!

ReplyDeleteNot strange at all! My BFF and I were just talking about this show yesterday and how we have to watch it twice, once for the story, once just to look at the houses, backgrounds and clothes. LOL.

I totally agree with you! Love the show, love her, love her hair, love her house, love her style!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great title and so true--I love this show and can't wait for each new show. Mary Margaret is a doll and her house is adorable! For those of you who have not seen it, give it a try-but it would be best to see it from the beginning to follow the story--you will be hooked! Enjoy your week! Kimberly
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I love that show; it's our Sunday night date! And I'm gaga over Mary Margaret's clothes as well. What a gorgeous blue coat she had on Sunday night past.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this show! I am going to have to look it up now. She looks like my kinda gal. I just found out about Downtown Abby a couple weeks back, too. sheesh...I am really out of the loop. xo Diana

ReplyDeleteDid you see the hats Robelyn made from being inspired from the show? Fantastic!
SO with you! We watch it on hulu and I like to pause it when we're in her home so I can see how they've decorated! Also LOVE her wardrobe! I'm a huge fan!!!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, thought of you at T.J.'s last week. I bought a yummy, new ( for me) cheese. It's one of their Toscana cheeses, soaked in red wine...a combo of Parm & cheddar cheese! Yummo! Have you tried it?
I am going to start watching this as your post makes it sound so fabulous.. I wish I lived in her place it looks perfectly cozy
ReplyDeleteOh Jen. I get you. She has been a fave for so long. And my two youngest and I adore Once Upon a Time. It is so fun to try to figure out who all the people are- and when are they going to tell us Red Riding Hoods story already? haha

ReplyDeleteI love her too. BTW, if you find that pattern lmk, been looking everywhere.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I have never heard from this movie here in Germany, but it seems it is a real gem. I am completely with you about that girl and I must admit that I also love her hair style. (Must try this next time). Her home is most beautiful, love the high ceilings and the vintage furniture and baking and hand sewing is the icing. Thanks so much for introducing her to me, must do a bit googling now.
ReplyDeleteWith my very best wishes,

could anyone tell me where I could get that red floppy beret(Spelled wrong I'm sure) from the show. I could never try to make something like that. I'm lucky I can crochet a scarf without too much trouble. I should take classes, but I haven't time. Please let me know. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI am right with you girl, my friends and I adore her and this show. We never miss it. I love the apartment set, her clothes, hats, coats, lace and her determination to find her love and stay always on the side of good. Its a fabulous series and the DVD set for Season One is delicious, lots of extras.
