As promised I've assembled a list of Christmas gift ideas. Many of these are on my own wish list or things I have and love. None of these links are affiliated and I am in no way compensated for any of these. These are all just honestly things I love and think you might too.
To get you organized for the new year:
A tech organizer from Anthropologie
This set of journals from Rifle Paper Co
A custom planner from Golden Coil
Magnificent Moth Pouch from Anthropologie
Any candles (and soy wax melts) from Harmony Farm Candles. She has a chai candle that is one of my favorites.
Speaking of chai, I prefer mine with mountains of froth piggery. I use this one daily and this one for making chai for a crowd and for traveling. Because I'm not leaving home without my froth.
I love a cozy throw like these from West Elm.
Part of my obsession for a cozy home includes baskets. This one from Ikea is a favorite. There may be 2 in my studio alone!
Pottery from Julia Smith Ceramics
The Hygge Game
One of my all time favorite purchases that I use year round for the cozy factor is this fireplace from Plow & Hearth
Books. Always books.
For the craft loving:
A Lap Loom weaving kit from Craft South- my favorite craft store of all time.
A crafty kit or pattern from Alicia Paulson.
A Gypsy Gripper for your quilting ruler.
More books. Crafty books. All the books.
How about a crafty subscription to keep the joy going all year long?
I love my boxes from Craftpod. It has been a thrill to open each one I've gotten so far.
My favorite magazine subscription of all time is to Making Magazine. While it has a good amount of knitting content, it absolutely isn't just for knitters. You will find all kinds of creative projects inside.
A class or gift certificate from Jeanne Oliver. I have loved every class I've taken there.
Obviously coziness and creativity are the most important things to me and my wish list reflects that. I always love hearing what's on your wish list too! I also suggest, wherever possible, give handmade, shop local and small businesses and give the gift of experiences, memories and time but there is nothing wrong with filling in the gaps with a much coveted store bought treasure!

Making a List and Checking it Twice
It's a cloudy morning here and I don't mind a bit. I have candles lit, a pot of ham and beans simmering on the stove, Christmas music has been playing all morning, the downstairs is clean and tidy and I have plans to wrap some more Christmas presents, knit the heel of a sock and make a list of Christmas cookies I want to bake this season.
We are recovering from last weeks festivities and a wonderful Thanksgiving in our tiny dining room crammed full of friends. It was just the very best of days and all the work that went into making it happen was so completely worth it. I can't tell you how many full heart moments I had that day.
The day after Thanksgiving we went to our favorite tree farm with the same friends who came for Thanksgiving. This tree farm is such a magical place and I love having it as part of our holiday traditions.
I love having all three of my beautiful girls there to help cut down a tree. These are the things we will always remember. I'm sure of it.
I had an email asking if I would share some ideas for Christmas wish lists for you guys. It's one of my favorite things to do. Since I was a little girl I have absolutely loved making my own wish list and since my birthday is 5 days before Christmas I get to make a double list. I have also always enjoyed hearing what other people have on their lists. Today I'm sharing some of my favorites, as well as some things I'm wishing for. I would LOVE for you to share what's on your list either by writing a blog post and leaving a comment and link or just commenting. By the way, none of these are affiliated links, I just really like sharing things I love with you guys!
I am so loving my Dark Aqua Filofax for organizing my life. I wish I had gotten one years ago. I've got this fountain pen on my wish list to go with it.
Pens and paper are always something I want more of. Lately I'm obsessed with Frixion pens which are great for writing as well as crafting. They are erasable gel pens that REALLY work and also disappear with heat for crafting. I love these and am hoping for some of these and these.
One of my favorite places for buying and receiving gifts is Anthropologie. I'm crazy about their candles and mugs in particular and they are actually two of the few things I will pay full price for in that store, although a good sale is always preferred! This is my favorite candle above. It's Fir and Firewood and you can buy it in this container and also in votive form. It may be considered a seasonal scent but I stock up and burn it all year especially in the studio where I consider it the official scent!
This is my newest mug and I'm so in love with it. It's worth the effort to hand wash. It happens to be sitting on top of one of my other new favorite things- Making Magazine Issue 2 Fauna. Honestly most of my wish list is crafting supplies and books. Those are the material things that make me happiest. Well, aside from stationery supplies and candles which I think we've already established!
Speaking of stationery...I'm really hoping Santa brings me this journal. Because I'm sure I need another journal. Or maybe I'm just sure I want another journal.
As for things I don't need more of but can't resist...These Champagne truffles are amazing and such a treat in our house. You can find them here but I find them occasionally at Homegoods where they are much more reasonably priced and only slightly splurgy. But amazing and worth it.
Jewelry is always a fun gift. I don't really need anything fancy but I love necklaces from Nest Pretty Things. I like to buy a couple of pieces from her with bithday/Christmas money every year. I'm waiting on a delivery of this and this.
I have so many books on my wish lists but here is a favorite decorating book and crafting book I am hoping for. There is just really nothing like the joy of a new book and the gift of time to read it.
If you are thinking about gifts that teach you something, you could ask for a year of Creative Bug classes (I'm loving my subscription) or maybe a photography class from Kim Klaassen. I think I'm going to use some Christmas money to sign up for her Be Still Fifty Two class which I have a feeling is going to teach me more than photography and re-center me. And I really need to be re-centered.
We all know life isn't about the stuff but who doesn't love the occasional pretty trinket? I also know we all have different budgets so I tried to find things for every price range. Our budget is but a fraction of what many people spend but it has never bothered me. I do believe that when I have less to spend, I tend to put more thought into it and to this day, my girl's favorite gift every year is the one I make them.
I'm off to fix some tea and make something lovely. I hope you have a weekend full of holiday happiness.

December Favorite Things
You may or may not know this, but Christmas will be here soon and I don't know about you, but I always like to know what's on other people's Christmas wish list so I can not only get ideas for my own, but because I love to hear about new things that other people love. I wanted to share some of my favorite things with you. Some of these I already use and love and others are on my own wish list.
For the home:
Pottery Barn faux mohair throw. I have this in teal which isn't for sale on the website anymore but can probably be found on eBay. It's so soft. And warm. I announced when it arrived that it was MOMMY'S blanket. Of course nobody listened to me and I have to fight for my chance to use it. I'll confess that it's dry clean only and I make it a point to not own anything that's dry clean only, but it is SO worth it!
Anthro candles. I'm addicted. One of my favorites to buy and gift is Fir and Firewood candles or votives and you can pick up this beautiful votive holder to burn them in! I also love the Fireside, Balsam & Cedar and the Branche Vermeil candles. Obviously I have a candle problem. Oh and the Boulangerie Jar Vanilla Fig candle! Bonus...the jars can be recycled when you are done. I've used them as pencil holders and to pot a succulent!
Decorating books. I adore books of all kinds and these are just some of favorite recent design books:
Life/Style by Tricia Foley
Everything in its Place by Rebecca Winward
The Shopkeeper's Home by Caroline Rowland
Keep it Simple by Atlanta Bartlett
Rifle Paper Co notepad and notebooks. I am a stationary fanatic and these are two of my favorites.
Cath Kinston Little Birds bluetooth speaker. I really, really want to justify this purchase.
Crafty:
Crafty books
Granny Chic by Tif Fussell (Dottie Angel)
Hoop La by Kirsty Neale
Stitch Along by Jenny Doh
Rosette Art by Chronicle Books
The Homemade Home by Sania Pell
Sunday Morning Quilts by Amanda Jean Nyberg and Cheryl Arkison
I don't quilt yet but 2016 is going to be my year to start. I'm looking forward to giving all of these books a workout soon.
-I love to embroider but have a really hard time doing so unless I have good sunlight which means no evening embroidery. I just ordered this Stella lamp with some birthday money and I can't wait to relax in the evening with needle and thread.
-Cavallini Celebrations stamp set
-Janome Hello Kitty sewing machine I'm also looking for a reason to justify this. Maybe as a back up sewing machine? I'm guessing I'd have to use mine more to justify a backup.
-French General notion kits
-Pam Garrison embroidery samplers. I love them all and have bought several for myself and as gifts. This one might be my personal favorite.
-Tolt Holiday Wreath Project Bag and while you're there pick up these scissors!
Kitchen:
-Philomena cookie stamp. I love this new addition to my kitchen. This is what the cookie looks like when you stamp it.
-Raised Bloom sugar shaker
-Monogram Mug in gold. I love this and have one myself. Ok, 2. It's also available in black if you prefer. I also have one of those. Ok, 2. Quit judging.
-Back in the Day Bakery Made with Love by Cheryl and Griffith Day. I also love their first cookbook.
Just for you:
-Anthro Tea Time Flannel sleep pants. Just imagine how cute these will look on you Christmas morning!
-Birchbox This is one of my favorite things ever. For $10 a month (free shipping) you get a pretty box filled with samples of products according to your interests and needs. You can gift a subscription or sign up for one yourself. Or both. And if you use this link you and I both get a $5 credit on our subscriptions. Or don't use the link and that's fine too! But go get yourself a subscription because it's like getting a gift in the mail every month!
-Perfume Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue
-My hands down, all time favorite pen is the teal Le Pen. You can buy them individually but I'm so hooked I buy them by the box. Plus I love to gift them to my friends so that they can know the joys of this perfect pen. These make great stocking stuffers!
-Nest Pretty Things This is my new favorite necklace but all of her jewelry is just amazing! And colorful. It's like wearing your happiness.
So these are some of my favorite things. These aren't affiliated links. Well except that Birchbox link! I hope this gives you some ideas for your own wish list or to purchase for someone you love. I'd love to hear about what's on your list!
