The party went off without a hitch. Somehow I managed to get everything done in time, even with Emma throwing in suggestions like, how about if we make name tags for the guests and the dolls, and how about if we make menus? Her ideas were great and I just love that she thinks of these things. The picture above is the chandelier all decked out for the party.
Here is an overall shot of the table setting and a shot of a single place setting. The bell is so the girls could ring for service whenever they needed anything. Notice how the pinwheel front was color coordinated with the rest of the table? Those Napkin rings are actually ponytail holders that each girl got to take with her. They also got to take the pinwheels. The little flowerpots are filled with pink M&M's and and heart lollipops and guests at my party are always encouraged to eat the decor.
This is what the cone was stuffed with: pencils, mini nail polish, lip balm and gloss, stickers, candy necklaces, lollipops, ring pops and giant diamond rings found in the bridal section of Joann's.
On to the food. We served an appetizer of cheese cubes and butterfly crackers, followed by a first course of fruit kabobs and carrot stick slices. They could choose from an entree of mini cheese pizzas or peanut butter cut out sandwiches (sorry no pictures!). They were also served pink lemonade from a pink bunny teapot into their fine china. These girls love using fancy dishes and being served. They love ringing that bell and being treated like grown ups.
Finally for dessert they were served miniature Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Cupcakes with Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting, heart cakes (Little Debbie valentine Cakes) and butterfly and heart sugar cookies. Each girl had a candle in her heart cake so that she could make a wish for the birthday girl.
The girls enjoyed making name tags for themselves and their dolls, making bead bracelets for their dolls, doing a photo shoot with their dolls, passing around the conversation box that you saw in my last post, opening presents and since spring was definitely in the air here in Indiana on Saturday they even got a few minutes to play outside. That's Emma with her feet in the air while the sun shines down on her face.
Thanks for sharing in the party fun with me. I love doing these parties and all of the hard work is worth it when she thanks me for everything I've done and says she will always remember it. I hope you are making wonderful memories today with your family.

ReplyDeleteOooh! I WISH I had a little girl so I could do stuff like this! I have three boys and the last time I planned a party they all ran around outside, only one kid wanted cake, and one kid had an allergic reaction to our cat, but wouldn't stop petting him. Oh, well...I guess as long as they all had fun...right?

I have a daughter that turns 9 in May and would love to do this but her best friend is a boy. He is one of my favorite kids of all time but it does put a damper in cute "all Girl" theme parties.
