The View from Here

This morning I woke up to temperatures in the 50's, a light breeze rustling the trees and my man beside me. It feels like the kind of morning that was created to give us a little glimpse of perfection.

I have been waiting for this very kind of morning. Waiting and dreaming. This kind of morning calls out to be celebrated. Not in the parade and marching band sort of way, but in a cinnamon toast, cocoa, snuggle under a blanket on the back porch with your honey sort of way.

 That's us. Perfectly imperfect.

A lovely, silly, scruffy, snuggly kind of morning.

I love the view from here. Literally and metaphorically.

You know how sometimes as you are having an experience, you just know in your heart that you want to memorize every moment of it?

That was this morning. Believe me, I'm not in the habit of celebrating Monday mornings. But this one? It demanded it.

I think probably there are many more perfect moments in our life than we notice. There is something about the cool air this morning that has me wanting to take the time to find them.

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing this morning, I hope you are enjoying the view.

  1. Your view is gorgeous, and I agree, a cool morning, some coffee and the man of my dreams makes for a perfect morning:>) It's a time to quit the hustle and bustle and take a holiday. It's in the 50's here too with a light rain, the dishwasher running, fresh coffee and Earl just finished baking an apple cheesecake and some gluten free chocolate cookies to take to a party later, sothe house smells soooo good:>) Perfect. Have a great rest of the day Jen!

We are getting rain, a lot of it. It is the tropical storm that hit Louisianna and is now in NC.

  17. Your view and your Saturday morning rituals and routines are absolutely blissful. Growing up, my family moved every three years. While I don't think of Kuwait as "home", it's the longest place I've ever lived -- nearly 17 years now. Hard to believe! Have a great rest of the week. Tammy

  24. Lovely post. I feel that way sometimes when I look up and see green, green leaves against a blue, blue sky. A little bit of perfection.

And your cups are perfection too. Pretty AND big enough for a decent cup of tea.
