When Life Gives You Lemons...

Make a lemonade stand.

Saturday we had Emma's first lemonade stand. It was such a big success. Aside from lemonade she sold 3 different kinds of cookies: sugar, sugar cookies rolled in sugar and lemon sugar cookies (Lemon Dreams) & made over $30. She's been saving her money for awhile for something special from the American Girl store. Our little entrepreneur had so much fun despite having the sun shining in her face for 4 hours and even had a repeat customer when a lady who had bought 2 of our Lemon Dreams came back and bought 8 more! She also had a lady tell her that she used to work as a buyer for a department store and she loved Emma's sense of style and would have hired her. She was also called Little Martha Stewart. She was eating it all up. So was I. It's hard to say which of us had more fun.

  1. Oh, this is a story close to my heart!! I love lemonade stands and yours looks absolutely adorable!! Your little girl is a natural...and that apron, well...this post just made my day. You did plunge me into the guilts, however, because my little niece is coming today and I still haven't put together Sophie's lemonade stand. Oyy...I wonder if I can put it together with all the other things I have on my to do list before they arrive!!

Thanks for the sharing your lemonade!

  17. Hey, Jen! Yes, I did know that Kim lives in Lakeland. She & I have conversed about that several times. I went to college there too & I've always told her if I get back down there, I will definitely look her up. I'd love to meet Kim in person.

  31. I adore the American Girl things! I can't wait until my Tilly is old enough to be able to play dolls with mama- my husband bought me a doll from there two years ago for Christmas- her name is Kit. I sort of hope that Tilly likes Samantha as she has the best accessories!

The lemonade stand is very sweet, and your daughter is gorgeous! I am glad she had a pleasant little turn out, and had a fun day!
