You can't control what your heart loves. For reasons unknown to me, I fell hard for this basket that I found in an antique store yesterday. While I have always had a deep and strange love for baskets, the compulsion I had to own this particular one was very strong. I love its aqua color. I love its rusty patina. I love its character and I know that I will use it happily in my studio and that every time I look at it, I will smile. Not a bad return on a $7 investment.
I might have felt compelled to own that as well! Very cute and I love the color.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting about my journals. I orginally found the idea at Eyes of Wonder (there is a link to her post about journaling on the second Journals post I made yesterday.)
P.S. I put up some pics of my house. I'm loving my new camera!
I love wire baskets and THAT is a great one. And since, I'm such a Home Companion nut, I have to add that I recognize the photos on the left...super cute girl bedroom.
ReplyDeleteI love it, too--it's a fabulous color and a wonderful find.

My girl's bedroom is aqua (Dutch Boy "indigo sea") and it is such fresh and happy color!
I'd have definitely been doin' the Happy Metal Basket Dance if I found that treasure :)

SO cute!! Love that aqua basket!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful basket. Target would have sold that for over 20.00 and it would have been fake character. Yours is so much better.
ReplyDeleteI love it. I also have the same towel that you have sitting on the top - love that too!!
ReplyDeleteOoooh! Love that basket! I, too, am a "basket case" and can hardly resist any basket...and that aqua one is a doozy. Congrats on a wonderful find!

ReplyDeleteI can totally see why you fell for this one. It's gorgeous and looks really lovely filled with your pretty fabrics.
ReplyDeleteIt is very pretty. I found one as well at my parents-in-law summer house; it was at the garage full of dust. I took it and bring home, it is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteI think it is an antique egg basket. I love it! I want to have chickens on our farm so bad... but husband always gives me this 'look' when I bring it up..

In the last few years, aqua has moved to the top of my list in attraction! I even have 2 planters on my front walkway in aqua. If gives my heart pleasure, that's all I know.
