Picking Paint

This is how much progress I have made with my studio. I'm still working on paint. In my mind, this entire room has been decorated but in reality I've been stuck at paint. For 3 years. Of course to be fair, I also had a hard time committing to a use for this room before I decided to make it my studio. You can see by the many splotches (and there are more that aren't pictured) that choosing paint is no easy task for me. I OBSESS about paint color. Let me assure you that this is not a well kept secret. I take no small amount of kidding about this particular personality "quirk". I mean honestly, how many people do you know that own their own collection of paint decks? Wouldn't you think owning 1 would be enough? And just in case you're wondering there is an entire gallon ziploc bag lying on the floor filled with paint cards that aren't in any of these 3 decks.

So, here's the amazing part. After buying about 6 different samples of paint to try in this room, I went out and bought a gallon of paint today. Yes, paint that I didn't even preview. I know better. You know better. I just needed to take a leap of faith and I needed to move on. Wish me luck.

  2. Jen I join you in obsessing over paint colors. I think it truly is a hard thing to do. There are so many great colors out there. But I am sure we will all love your choice. So what was your final decision? This room is going to be gorgeous! Can't wait to see it. Did your banner come? RJ

  5. Jen, you did the right thing. Sometimes you just gotta jump in with both feet and try something. If you hate it at least you have about 15 runners-up to try next!

  6. Go ahead and paint away. Sometimes you don't know what you want until you start actually painting. So you'll either love the color or a light bulb will go off and you'll go get that perfect gallon of paint!

  7. Well, I'm afraid due to a viral infection & doctor ordered rest I won't be painting this week. The color I chose is BM Natural Cream and it is a beautiful neutral with a grey undertone. Just what I was looking for. I sure wish I could get it painted before my party Saturday and before my friends Chris & Carrie come to sleep in that room!

  10. Hi. I'm Scarlett and I'm from London England. I love the Cottage Blogs and have recently been reading yours. I've taken a look at your favourite websites and would like to recommend - Cabbages and Roses. In real life the store is FABULOUS! It's like the interior of an English Country home. I hope you'll like the website. Kind Regards.
