I love plates & platters and, I must confess, it's possible that I don't know when enough is enough. I have plates displayed in one way or another in almost every room of the house. Some are hung on the wall and some are not. I always have an eye out for more to buy and for new ways to display them. Here are some great examples of how to do it. As you can see, the 'ol "less is more" theory doesn't always hold true!
ooohhhh how pretty! I am very much a aspiring plate collector...I only hesitate to jump into it, because I can only imagine how addictive an hobby it must be :)
ReplyDeleteI have an extensive plate collection as well. Only not as many have made it onto the walls in this house... Now I am going to have to think about changing that! The plates above the bed are my favorite!
ReplyDeleteooh i love the photos and ideas in this post!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I have that Plate Book (love it) and bought a copy for a friend who has a Plate Problem, too :)
ReplyDeleteI love all those plate photos. Great post, Jen!

the first photo is definitely my favorite ~ something so calming about a collection of varying blues. not so sure how I feel about plates hanging above my head while I'm sleeping, though!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely photos....I recognize a few. I have a plate addiction as well and have them hanging in most rooms. My husband put his foot down though when he saw me running to the powder room with a hammer and a brown toile plate!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
That is THE BEST Inspiration Friday post I have ever seen! I have plates everywhere in my house. I was looking around the other day wondering if I had overdone it with too many plates. I love them though and I'm a third generation plate collector. I have that book too, I only wish it was bigger. I don't want to leave your blog today, I just want to stare at those beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos today...I don't think there's such a thing as too many plates, either (my mother collects them, too)!
ReplyDeleteVery inspiring post today!
I don't think you can ever have too many plates! Great post!

mmmmmmm... muted yellows and blues are my absolute favorite! And sage green, too! Gorgeous photos! Thank you for sharing this inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love using plates on walls! If I can't figure out what to do in a space, I'll just put up some more plates :)
ReplyDeleteLove these photos. The plates above the bed are so neat. I love the way they arranged them.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I love plates and platters too. I have many sets of dishes and I can't seem to stop buying them.

Oh, I love the second photo and the headboard one. I could never make a wall look that fabulous though, it would just end up looking cluttered and funky. O_o
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty! I really loved the last picture :)
ReplyDeleteI love plates too but I'm not good at placing big groups of them. When I first bought my ribbon plates from Ballard's, I had to keep looking at the pic to see how they hung them. I did it exactly how they did and I haven't touched them since..LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh I love these! I'm so glad I'm not the only one with a plate problem :o)
ReplyDeleteOh , I so agree, I love plates too, my husband hates them so in this house I have kept them to a minimum, just yesterday I bought 3 egg shaped green toileish printed plates,so adorable, I even have plates on the wall of my outdoor covered porch.
ReplyDeleteWow - I love all those plates. I think that more is less in this case - they look so much better all grouped together, to the extent that I shall be rummaging through boxes of stock in my store to see how many are suitable for grouping together!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the picket fence ... I just love them!
