The time of year has arrived when I want more than anything to be cozy. Yesterday I heard the weatherman saw the four letter "s" word. Yes you heard me, snow. Now I love snow, especially when I'm in the house all snuggled up with my family, a roaring fire and a cuppa hot cocoa. All I can think about right now is warming up the nest and especially my bedroom.
My bedroom is the only room in the house that doesn't feel cozy to me. It's a very large room, too large for my liking which makes it harder to cozy up. With Christmas around the corner there isn't any budget for a bedroom redo but I figure it's never too early to start making a plan. I live for planning. I hope you enjoy these pictures that are inspiring me and maybe they will inspire you to make your neglected bedroom a little cozier too.

Jen,
ReplyDeleteLove them all, but the last one with the window seat and wicker rocker is my favorite.

Okay- we are inspired and revved up! Always love to get decorating ideas, especially from beautiful rooms like these!

Those pictures are just beautiful. I just found 15 Coastal living magazines for less than 4 dollars at a thrift store today!! Thought you could appreciate that.
ReplyDeleteI have the bedroom from Cottage living in my favorites folder. It's one of my favorite issues.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
The Coastal Living photos are my favorites, bar none! Gogeous!
ReplyDeleteLove them! Especially loveing that poster bed. In 2 weeks I will have a new house to decorate so I am going to have to look thru all your inspiration pics again!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds to me like your bedroom is a great excuse to buy some furniture...."but honey, we NEED this!!!"...haha! Love every one of those photos!
ReplyDeleteVery cozy Jen!!
ReplyDeleteI like the first picture the best.

I think my fav. is the first..the chair seems so cozy to curl up in and enjoy some me time alone in my cozy room...I always decorate my room LAST>>why is that when it's the room we spend more time in at least 8 hrs.
ReplyDeletesleeping and then some!
I don't like that word that begins with ((((((((S))))))))))) :)NG
romantico e chic!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Jen I hear you about that overly large master. I so wish Pulte had put some of that space into the secondary bedrooms. I was just thinking last night that our bedroom is my least favorite room to be in in this house. Mostly because it is dark, too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer and just feels so isolated from the rest of the house. Not to mention that it is long and narrow with a vaulted ceiling making it feel something like a bowling alley!!
ReplyDeleteAll of them are beautiful & all of them look VERY cozy! I heard the "S" word on the radio today, too. I'm not ready yet! Blessings, Patricia
ReplyDeleteHi Jen,
ReplyDeleteAs you know, doing over my bedroom was a big task for me (at least the getting started part), but it was worth every second. I know when you are ready, you will come up with something absolutely beautiful...I can't wait to see it!
Don't you love that picture with the sofa in front of the bed...to have a room that size would be great!!
Love all the pics!!
Linda
I'm so glad you posted these. I'm trying to find some inspiration right now for my bedroom. I'm having a hard time picking colors but I really like the bedroom that is very similar to the living room that I loved that you posted one time. I wonder if they used the same F&B paint color.
ReplyDeleteThe bedroom is a very important room in the house, the best advise I can give any gal is to invest in great lighting. It is key, for reading- or romance! candlelight or an overhead light with a dimmer are a must, totally sets the mood.I have dimmer switches on every room that has an overhead light in my house from kitchen to bedroom to bath (well not the laundry) It is one of the great softeners, I think. Try it!Let me know what you think. An easy install, too. Just make sure to turn the power off at the breaker, girls.
ReplyDeleteI adore ADORE the style editor at cottage living, the 2 canopy bedroom photos are from homes she actually lived in and I bet slept in! Love the shots Jenn.

This is the time of year I always want an organized, cozy bedroom! Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHello! !
ReplyDeleteYour photos are fantastic! ! !
Representing the house of our dreams! ! !
Hello, marypoppins
Those are beautiful bedrooms. Maybe try and make a sitting area in your bedroom - therefore making the bedroom part a bit smaller. You would need to post a photo of your bedroom though to get some really good suggestions!
ReplyDeleteyour comment "i live for planning" struck a cord with me!! loved this "cozy" post!!
ReplyDeleteI recently discovered your blog- I love it! The last 2 pictures are my favorites. This is a good topic. I think the previous comment about perhaps having a seating area in part of your bedroom might be a good idea.
ReplyDeleteJen, the pictures are fantastic! We're getting very cold tomorrow here too and I'm piling on the covers in preparation. I can never have too many pretty blankets and quilts. Warms me all over just thinking of them ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, how timely! We just ordered new bedroom furniture last week, after 15 years of living with mismatched hand-me-downs. I can't wait for it to arrive, and these pics are giving me some exciting decorating notions! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI've been doing the same thing, working on ideas for my master bedroom! We are moving upstairs from our tiny bedroom to the whole third floor with a vaulted ceiling. I actually used the same photo from coastal living as my inspiration photo, I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration to get back to work on it! I can't wait to see what you do!
So you have a large room has you? You are right, they can be hard to decorate in a cosy way, but i am shure you will do a good job. Lots of inspirations here. Our bedroom is too small, that can be a problem too..LOve the first snow! But hate the cold..But it is cosy to sit inside making all those pretty little things for Christmas :))
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for stopping by and leave mye such a lovely message!

Oh, they're all so lovely! I wish I could redo my bedroom right now, but of course... I can't! I have way too many holiday projects! But a girl can gream. Sigh. ~A :-)
ReplyDeleteLove all of these pictures, especially the one of the chair by the fireplace. I think it would be lovely to have a fireplace in my bedroom.
ReplyDeleteWell...that did the trick. I am so inspired to fix up my bedroom but, alas, it's too close to Christmas to be spending money on my bedroom. Sooo, as you say, I am starting to "cozy" up by adding a thick comforter to my bed...and a throw across the foot for daytime naps...I am not a curtain person, preferring blinds over fabric. But, I am thinking I may may some pretty ones for my windows for thru the winter...Thanks for getting me thinking about it.

OK, now that I've seen these I hate my bedroom-lol. These are lovely and so inspiring. Such peaceful looking places to lay you head. Great selection to share.
ReplyDeleteLots of snuggly ideas. The post is great!
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely cozy rooms. I love them. My favorite is the one with the monogrammed pillows and the plaid blanket at the foot of the bed, with the bamboo shades. That's a great room.

I just discovered your blog!
ReplyDeleteI think with a large bedroom, you have to create many groupings and add lots of layers and textures.
I would love to have a huge bedroom, since you could do so much with it!
Lucky you!
