Busy as a Bee

I don't know how the weeks keep slipping by so quickly. It is less than a month til Silver Bella and I'm busy getting ready. I've been making checklists, gathering up my stuff, hunting down supplies I still need to buy at thrift stores, garage & estate sales. It's a tough job but someones gotta do it. I'll have a couple of fun things that I'm making for the trip to share with you soon. I should also warn you right now that I can hardly think of anything else so feel free to move on to something more interesting if you get tired of hearing about it! Speaking of interesting, you might notice something new on my sidebar-those girlies are my followers! How cool is that? I've been in lala land lately and just recently noticed that new tool on blogger but I think it is so fun! So hey there followers! I'm so glad to have you here.
I've started doing a little Christmas shopping this month trying to get a jump on things so all of that expense doesn't hit at one time. Love this library kit and Smencils from Amazon for my little librarian. I think she's going to be a bookworm like her Mommy. She started reading the first Harry Potter book which seems like a big book for such a little kiddo.

I'm also thinking ahead to my birthday and I've decided to finally break down and get an Ipod. I'm quite aware that I am probably the last person under the age of 50 to get one but I've never felt the need to be a trend setter. I'm not really that in to technology. My cell phone doesn't even have a camera. So there you go. Now which color to choose? It's like shopping in a candy store.

  2. Jen, you can add me to the under 50 who doesn't have an ipod list. Like you , I thought I was the only one... we must be the only two ;) I'm also putting it on my christmas list. I have to admit it might be kind of nice to have at the gym.

  3. Smencils - what a great idea for a stocking stuffer! I do have an ipod, only because it was a company Christmas gift a few years ago...I thought it was such a waste of money at the time but quickly became hooked and now it goes everywhere with me. However, I am probably the last person on earth who doesn't use a cell phone so I'm not winning any prizes on the hipness scale either :).

  4. I realize this sounds like a PSA, but now IPods can be used to download FREE audiobooks from your local library...all you need is your library card and you can do it all from your PC. The IMCPL offers this on their website, as do other public libraries across the country. It's a great service...and it's free--really important now! I pulled a shift on the Digital Bookmobile last week and the new technology is amazing--and easy. Love the library kit...I miss bookpockets.

  17. i don't have an ipod either. my pictures under the word "dork" in the dictionary...maybe even on wikipedia...anyway, i DO have an mp3 player that i'm not really sure how to work...had that for about 3 years now...my hubby says it's the same thing only no money for the name IPOD...i still kinda want an ipod though to be somewhat hip...maybe if i had an ipod i'd know that mary engelbreit doesn't dig her magazine as much as we do...maybe i should just get an izod. it's late. blessings.
