The Fall Table

We are in the middle of the strangest Autumn I can recall. Our temps vacilate between above average highs and above average lows. I'm starting to think that we are going to skip right from summer to winter when the weather finally does make up it's mind. Let's be clear, that's not keeping me from pondering all things fall right now. I'm loving these place settings from Pottery Barn and Ralph Lauren. I can just imagine piling them high with comfort foods like pumpkin bread and apple crisp. That's well balanced, right? Well, maybe I'll throw in some homemade mac and cheese to balance things out.

You can go to the Openhouse blog to see the place settings I've been playing with at my house. I'm pretty sure I can mix and match enough pieces to have a different place setting every Sunday from now until Thanksgiving.

  3. Hi! I love the dishes- so pretty!! I swear I'm a dish-o-holic- I can't seem to get enough of them! I hear you about the weather- we're in IL and it is hot during the day- cool at night. By the way- I have a cousin who lives where you do- it's a nice town!

  6. I saw those plates in PB last week. Very pretty. I have to wonder if a less expensive option for your fix would be to make napkins in a similar fabric and pair with white dishes? You could put a small orange pumpkin on top of the salad plate to create the orange effect.

Love the Ralph, of course! I have had wonderful luck with PB and Ralph on eBay. Watch for those plates in about 6 months! :-)

I bought a paisley wool throw pillow at PB last week...I needed it like a hole in the head, but I am such a sucker for the PB and Ralph wool paisleys. *sigh*

  8. You are so talented. I love the look of layered dishes and the texture that it adds to the table. I bought the most lovely transferware style Thanksgiving salad plates from Homegoods in that same shade of light chocolate brown. I can hardly wait to break them out. Kudos to you on your Homegoods fame.

  9. Those are just beautiful settings. I'm having a hard time getting jazzed about fall -- it seems like every year just when I'm ready to do some more decorating (after a summer of gardening), I'm still wanting white and cream and all that summery stuff, just when it's time to get all the fall tones together. But with the cooler weather, maybe I'll start feeling the fall love soon!
