Foot Fetish

I never was one of those girls. I couldn't imagine spending lots of money on shoes and having so many pairs that I required special storage for them. Then one day I woke up and I was different. I was a shoe person. I'm not sure how or why it happened. My guess is that it coincided with a new inner confidence that took me about 37 years to get and which spawned a love of fashion, of letting the outside reflect what is inside. For the record, I still can't imagine spending a lot of money on shoes, but I now can imagine the need for storage to accommodate an ever growing collection.
I just ordered these boots from Target ($32.99) inspired by my newest fashion hero, Rebekah at Little Byrd Vintage. This girl can put together a thrifted outfit like nobody I've ever seen. I adore her style. We have very similar taste.
My other fashion hero of late is Kasey from Lola B Boutique and she is the reason I just ordered these shoes from Target ($18.89). I've been watching and waiting for them to go on sale and yesterday it finally happened.

I can't wait to put both of these pairs of shoes into the fashion mix and share the results with you. Embrace life. Go buy yourself a new pair of shoes.

  2. I have the shoes. They are pretty comfortable. Although, they are $4.97 at our Target store. There are some suppppper cute shoes on suppppper clearance at Target as we speak. I love when the season changes....so does my shoe collection. hehe
I always say to my hubby...thank goodness Nordstroms is not my Target :)

  4. As a long-standing member of the "shoe-aholic" society I love it when someone discovers a passion for footwear...I've loved shoes since I was about 3...I don't pay exhorbitant amounts of $$ for them...because tastes change and so does fashion...what I put on my feet can set the tone for my whole day. Love these choices you've made!

  5. I LOVE what you picked! I just might need to get myself a pair of those boots too - I love the shorter style. I could have written what you wrote about your evolution into shoes. I never spend a crazy amount on them but lately I have been noticing some that I'm so drawn to and then I see how much they are...not going to happen :) Thanks for the mention here - it made my day!

  12. That's too funny. I was just at Target this morning and debating if I should buy them. I was going to wait till my next check, but I just may have to go back before pay day.

  13. because shoes are easier to try on than clothes. a shoe size is usually the same no matter what store....or online....or catalog.
and a new pair of shoes can make an old outfit look new again.

I can remember I had a low heel, open toe shoe in white with black polka dots and black with white polka dots..now that is obsession. I do love those flapper girl shoes too.you just enabled me.

Those wings of love are so clever. If you pop over to my blog you can see that your tag isn't just beautiful, it also fits so well in my tag book. Thanks a million!

  24. Jen, loved the boots so much that I went out to buy a pair. Unfortunately, the Target in my town did not have my size - but my husband works closer to Indy and he (being so helpful and kind) stopped and picked up a pair for me! Thanks for the tip!!

  25. My Mom got me a pair of the Mary Janes that look EXACTLY like the one in your pic but they are grey and black and are by Nurture.
They were in the $80.00 range but the first time I wore them ~ I was standing for 6 hours at a coktail party during the holidays ~ TOTAL comfort!
I just wore them for the 2nd time in NYC for an entire day of walking.
They are the MOST comfortable shoes I have EVER owned!
Maybe you can find them on sale now!
Inside of the shoe it says Nurture.
If you find them on line ~ they are true to size.
