I'm Just Saying

I want this book. Desperately. Sadly, it doesn't look like it's available in the states and shipping from England costs approximately the same amount as my monthly grocery bill. Not really, but almost.

I'm a bit obsessed with Cath Kidston. The style not the person. I'm dying to go to one of her stores. If money were no object, I would jump on a plane and fly to England with an empty suitcase and shop til my bag was full. Why is it so hard to find this kind of cottage goodness on this side of the pond?

  1. jen,

i am so right there with you! i received the email from cath kidston yesterday about the new book and then did a search at amazon to see if it's available here. no. :(

i sewed something yesterday for the very first time. i think that book would help me. not enough of a rationale to justify shipping though.

  2. I'm a bit obsessed myself and wish there was a store here. Not because I can sew, but because I could buy her products sans shipping ;)

  6. Hi Jen:

We seem to have it here through Amazon.ca

    http://www.amazon.ca/Sew-Cath-Kidston/dp/1844007561/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1256051619&sr=8-1

    Maybe that would work?

  8. Why can't you order it from amazon.co.uk? It will probably cost more with the conversion from dollars to pounds?

  9. I have a stinkin' feeling you'll own this book very soon. :-)

BTW, your comment about your husband on my blog made me feel much better!

  12. Three Sisters Shop in Oregon used to carry Cath Kidson, but they are no longer in business. Let's all plan a stow-a-way party on an oceanliner bound for London. There are several cozy shoppes I like to visit.

  13. Seems like Ms. Kidston might want to take that as a hint.

  14. There was a Kidston shop in Santa Monica but it closed before I ever visited. I thought you might be interested in this article I found http://www.scotsman.com/interviews/Interview-Entrepreneur-Cath-Kidston.5699998.jp
The whole piece is very charming and I love her business model... working without debt is tough to do... and probably explains why her stores in the US were closed. But did you know there's one in Kuwait of all places?!

  17. I'd get the book regardless of the hefty shipping charges. Think of all the money you'll save by making the projects in this book!

  20. It's soooo happy, isn't it? I did buy a few things a few months ago and you're right....the shipping was nearly as much as the items I purchased. :-)

  22. I went into one of her stores this past spring when I was in England--I had never heard of her but the store itself immediately caught my eye. She has the cutest stuff ever but way too pricey for my budget.

  23. OOOOOh I would love that book!!!! I agree with you it would be great to have a Cath Kidston store nearby!!!

  25. Someone else may have mentioned this, but a few years ago I went to NYC and there was a shop in SoHo I think, or maybe they carried her products? I remember standing in front of the store, bummed that it was closed for the evening.
