I'll share my house hunting trip with you soon. I still haven't uploaded the pictures. I will tell you there is a clear winner as of this moment but we will see what else comes on the market in the next few months.
This house in the Village is currently listed at $899,000 and is more than a smidge out of our price range. But I love it. Although I would have chosen a different exterior color, the inside seems to have been designed with me in mind. Can you see why I have a crush on it? Sadly, having a crush on this house is like having a crush on Harry Connick, Jr. It's a nice little fantasy but it's never gonna happen sister.
Anybody want to go halfsies?
Now I guarantee whatever I buy will not be this grand or be this move in ready but I think the doing is half the fun, don't you?
Oooh! LOVE that kitchen and the built-in library ladder, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy House Hunting!
I can see why you are stalking.. WOW!! I want to live there too.. and I am with you.. it is a LOT out of my price range, but that is sure some pretty eye candy! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I would have to go in with you like 1/4...
ReplyDeleteYes, doing it is half the fun. It is no fun to move into something that someone else made perfect.... even if it is already your idea of perfect... except kitchens... don't like a kitchen remodel!
Michelle
GORGEOUS! I would gladly go half with you! Think we would have enough leftover for a cleaning service? Cause I would rather hang out all day and enjoy it! ;o) ~mary~

ReplyDeletethe floors are quite swoonworthy.
ReplyDeletei actually didn't enjoy house hunting. we had a low range and saw some real dumpy places. so happy we landed where we did.
enjoy the ride!
xo
Wow! What a beautiful house!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous house! Happy hunting!
ReplyDeleteI love that line about Harry Connick Jr. Nice fantasy but it ain't gonna happen:) I love the house though!
ReplyDeleteWow that is a beautiful house! I LOVE all those built-ins and all the windows. I look forward to seeing the houses from your house hunting trip.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness the library :)
ReplyDeleteIt is JUST beautiful!!! I love it...and that ladder around the bookcases...oh my!
ReplyDeleteOoooh!
ReplyDeleteI'm crushin' on that house too, it's delightful in every way!
Happy hunting.....
Love that mudroom with the great cubbies....What a beautiful home...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful home! A wee bit out of our price range, too. And no, sorry, even going halvies would be out of our price range!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see some more houses from village!
Did you go rogue and sneak those pics? Love it! That house is so unassuming on the outside...but amazing on the inside! There's that "don't judge a book by its cover" thing, again.... :)
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove that library with the ladder ~ perfect spot for all your decorating books :-)Happy House Hunting xo
You had me at the media room...wow.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful! We are just now house hunting as well and think we have found "the one." I will share soon. I, too, saw a fantasy or two that had to be left behind. What we have found will have to, in some ways, mostly the kitchen, be made into our fantasy and I am sure we will appreciate it much more than if the fantasy was someone elses we purchased. Bloom wear you are planted and you will be happy. ~Kelly

I agree, the doing is at least half the fun...and I can't imagine you without a project list in your sidebar! That place is truly amazing, though. Can't wait to see the rest of the village houses.
ReplyDeleteHoly macaroni, I call the left half :0)
ReplyDeleteLynea
Ok, I might be tempted to buy that house and resign myself to sitting on the floor eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches the rest of my life!
ReplyDeleteNo, being house poor is bad! Keep looking, the perfect house will come along!
Kat :)
Indy area has some great homes.....we have driven through lots of neighborhoods and oogled and aahed.
ReplyDeletelooks like fun!
halfsies?
ReplyDeleteDEAL
can i have the checkerboard tiled mudroom
& the GINORMOUS living room with rolling ladder thingy?
you can have the kitchen
to cook all our meals
our doggies will be ever so happy
does that work for you?
Wow, love the built ins, the hardwood, the kitchen, wow.
ReplyDeleteI need to move to Indiana! I'm in CA so the cost of homes here and what you get is SERIOUSLY skewed! If my husbands parents as well as mine were not right around the corner like they are we might consider an area where we get so much more for our money. Beautiful photos! I saw myself on the book ladder for a second there...Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCompletely honest? No. I think the moving in to a perfect place (like that) is way better than the doing.
ReplyDeleteReality: Never gonna happen....so the doing comes in a solid second...good second. Perfect second.
Look at that fantastic mudroom! And library! :-)
ReplyDeleteI could probably do the dog house, is there one I bet it is beautiful. All kidding aside I love the floors and the kitchen. Can hardly wait to see what you end up buying!~
ReplyDeleteBristol
I love the book shelves with the LADDER....love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can kick in twenty bucks!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Spencer
you gotta dream girl. that is beautiful!! the kitchen got my attention and then the library pulled me right in. yeah, 899 kind of made me choke. but oh so pretty. can't wait to see what you found.
ReplyDeleteoh my. I love that house. Good thing it's waaay out of my price range and state! I could live in that library. sigh.
ReplyDeleteWOWEE! That one is dreamy! I agree with you about the exterior color - kind of blah.

I can see why you plan to move to the village. It is so charming!! I apologize, but I have a craft question. Would you detail how you made the boxes and journals? My attempts do not look as good. Thanks and good luck on the house hunt.
ReplyDeleteWow! It's beautiful! It's always good to look around and get ideas of what you really like.. Even if you aren't going to find it all in the house you end up buying. When we were house hunting we'd find faults with the beautiful perfect houses just to feel better about what we were buying. For example a big spaceous room, may be drafty. A house with a lot of square footage could possible keep the family distant. Etc. Etc. I LOVE the built in library a dream of mind, but I like to remind myself of all the dust that would collect! :)
ReplyDeleteStop by my blog sometime. http://creativeinkansas.blogspot.com I'm new to blogging.
Stunnnning!
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to see why your stalking this house - it's fabulous! Leigh
ReplyDeleteThis house is perfect! Except for the price...and I do think fixing it up yourself is part of the fun.

ReplyDeleteYou make ME want to move to The Village. I'll go half with you!
ReplyDeleteYup - its a beauty alright - and in my neck of the woods that price is pretty reasonable.
ReplyDeleteOh my GOODNESS!!
ReplyDeletenow thats a renovation-----
that great room looks like its as big as a football field!
This happens to me allllll the time, I look at the highest one first, then nothing, NOTHING holds a candle to it. Its fun to dream tho! just rmemeber the possibilities in all those homes while you look....
Im so excited, I wish I could gowith you as you do this, house stalking is one of my FAVES!
holy crud, that is gorgeous! just a smidge outta my price range too, or I would take 2. The other two house I don't think you could go wrong with!!
