Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

I can't believe it's here. This wonderful magazine that many of us have been waiting months and months to get our hands on, is about to be on store shelves. I personally  can't wait to get my hands on it and I'm betting you feel the same way.

Thanks to the generous people behind this magazine I will have an extra copy to give away to one of you lucky readers. Just leave me a comment on this post before midnight Thursday (Eastern time) telling me about your favorite flea market find, and you will be entered into the drawing. Easy peasy, right?

My best flea market find would have to be a few old shabby shutters that I picked up for a buck!!!
I love them and use them propped here and there in my everyday decor.
    Blessings!

    up, painted, wears
    glass knobbies,
    and now

  18. I would have to say that one of my all time favorite flea market buys is a baseball! We were at the flea market in Honolulu and bought an old baseball-the story was that it belonged to this boys grandfather and that Babe Ruth had signed it! You could see the autograph faintly and it cost us a whole 25 cents.

  19. Hard to pick "a favourite" flea market find ~ but one would be an old desk we found and painted pale blue for our daughter's room. 25 years later, that same desk is now painted white and in her shabby chic condo :-)
Thanks for the giveaway Jen ♥

  23. Oh, you rotten little lucky little sneaky little lady.

Well, my current favorite flea market find is the crazy necklace I found when I was fleaing with one of my dearest of friends. It has these crazy safari animal charms all over it. It was $0.50 and I bought it from a shady looking character who had junk piled all into random boxes. My friend totally flirted with him a little and he clearly loved it.

I wore the necklace this weekend and got loads of compliments.

  25. For $100 we purchased an 8 foot by 2 1/2 foot long fridge/freezer cabinet that came out of an old store. The "front" or public side was quarter-sawn oak with old glass windows and the "back" side was fir with big heavy old fashioned fridge doors. My husband cut in half lenght wise to make 2 8 foot cabinets. The "front" side after much sanding, painting, removal of some glass and intalling shelves, is sits in our living room as a flat-screen TV console/display shelf and is BEAUTIFUL. The "back" (complete with doors) sits in the garage as storage. The only added expense was an additional $27 on ebay for some quarter-sawn oak needed to finish out the top.

  28. I always love checking into your blog. You have fresh and fun ideas.
My favorite flea market find was purchased during highschool(some twenty years ago!). I found two pieces of mint colored square pottery pieces that were in perfect condition. The dealer had no idea that the pieces actually stacked together! He sold them to me for a quarter a piece and threw in a matching lid! My mom and I squealed with delight as we walked away.

I just found this treasure in a drawer, where I was using it to organize "stuff". I now proudly have it displayed with my other favorite treasures where I can enjoy it!
Thanks for all of the inspiration.

  43. My favorite flee market find was something my daughter found and she was only about 10 years old! Years ago my Mom gave me her poinsettia cups and saucers. At this flea market my DD and I were poking around when DD tugged on my arm and pointed and said "Look MOM!" She was pointing to the dirtiest tea pot, sugar and creamer I ever saw. I couldn't tell what color they were but somehow she knew they matched my prize cups so I paid $5, brought them home and washed them A LOT. Sure enough it was a match to my tea cups and they were in perfect condition. My DD is a gem!
