Fabulous Friday- Get Dressed

Sometimes I get in a rut. Sometimes this rut involves yoga pants and no makeup. Sometimes it's all I can do to make myself put on a face and some real clothes. Sometimes I have to make myself go out and buy something pretty and find an excuse to get dressed up and leave the house.

I always feel better when I do. I'm realizing that I need to do this for myself more often. I'm not saying that there's no place in my life for pants that have a drawstring. What I'm saying is that when I put some effort into me, I feel so much better about myself. I treat myself better, I have more energy and purpose to my days. I feel much more fabulous. Yesterday was a rainy, lazy yoga pants kind of day. Today is a clear, get off your butt and do something with yourself kind of day.

Let me know if you post something for Fabulous Friday and I'll be happy to link to it.

  6. Love, love that outfit. These days, I think I'm doing the dressed/makeup/hair thing about twice a week. Pathetic. Something to work on definitely. Thanks for the kick in the pants!

  7. LOL! I just read this as I sit here freshly dressed in yoga pants and a thermal. I wonder how long I can get away with the "I just had a baby" excuse? I totally agree with you though, I need to head to Anthro and browse for an "inspiration outfit." TGIF

  10. I am ALWAYS in yoga pants and t-shirts! But you're right. It is good to dress nicely and feel like a lady once in a while, though. I love that outfit, by the way. Cute!! :)

  11. I definitely tend to get in the same rut as you. I almost hate to get out of my sweat pants and put on makeup, but I always feel like I have a little more energy when I make the effort to do so.
I did just buy some Pajama Jeans on a site online. So now I can actually look like I'm not wearing pajama or sweat pants, but it still feels comfortable. I wonder if there is such a thing as a "Pajama Dress"?

  12. I remember when my kids were young I lived in sweat pants. Now in my mid 40's I am adamant that gym clothes are for the gym only. This is an unusual fashion rule where I live. Vancouver is the home of Lulu Lemon and believe me west coast women love their spandex! But I just feel a lot better if I dress up a little. And if I'm really ambitious, makeup even!
Thanks for Fab. Friday - my post is at http://pinkrosecottage.blogspot.com/2010/03/fun-fab-friday.html

  21. Jen Jen Jen....these fabulous friday posts are just what the doctor ordered for me! I have been in such a rut of not even fixing my hair, or dressing in anything without a drawstring. I actually dressed today, because of this post! My family thanks you!
