Today is the first day that I really feel it. Deep down to the depths of my soul. A change is coming. It will be good. It hasn't been easy to get here, although it hasn't been difficult either. Not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. I stand on the edge of this new life that awaits me, my hands clasped above my head as if I'm praying, my body slightly crouched and every fiber of my being straining to dive into this next adventure.
Part of me can't believe it's really happening. The idea that I dreamed a dream and then made it happen still surprises me. I love surprises. I feel empowered. I feel emboldened to chase more dreams. I realize that I don't have to just let life happen. Within me is the power to forge my own destiny. I feel changed.
Things are going to be hectic around here for awhile so I will likely be missing for longer periods of time. I do have a few things I want to post about soon: a couple of book reviews, Village events, pictures of the inside of the cottage, so I won't be completely gone, just a little scarce. I hope your weekend is full of happiness and that you Moms are celebrated in style.
I think it's great that you took charge of your own destiny. I want to do the same. My goal is to get out of Indiana and move to North Carolina and I hope to make that happen in the next 2 years. Congratulations on living the life you want!
ReplyDeleteWishes for what you really want to be coming true... Blessings
ReplyDeleteWe really can shape our lives - dream our dreams and make them happen. You did it!

Change is good. Enjoy this transition time! I love being able to walk into town to visit the library, or buy a great baguette. There's something truly special about belonging to a town that you love. Good luck with setting up in your temporary cottage. It may be tight but think of all the time you will be spending in the village and also house hunting!
ReplyDeleteRead all your recent posts to catch myself up to date...looks exciting! I love a little, ok BIG, change now and then. We are going on 5 years in our current home, a record for us. I do love it, but am starting to feel that urge to seek out a new adventure...find myself looking at 'for sale signs'...don't tell my husband tho!

I'm so proud of you Jen! If even just a few more people took control and made things happened for themselves the way you did the world would be such a happier place!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to see you packing up that lovely room! I'm so proud of you, JJ.
ReplyDeleteYou've discovered a wonderful thing...you can create your own destiny! Good luck to you as you transition through these new events in your life.

Happy packing, Jen! A necessary evil to get you on your way to the village. Are you an organized packer? I start out that way, then resort to garbage bags at the end!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day to my Cottage Friend.
I'm SO EXCITED for you!!! Enjoy the process and don't worry if you post less often. Remember what's MOST important to you.

ReplyDeleteJen,
ReplyDeleteI love when people "get" this. When I turned 40 I vowed to do more things that "scared me"...it has been life changing and so empowering! It is amazing to see what can happen if given a chance.
I look forward to hearing more about your journey. Oh, and thanks for stopping by to say "hi".
