Today is a cozy day. Cool, brisk and leafy. I plan on making the most of it.
Yesterday I took a knitting class with this girl. After a 2 year break it came back to me pretty quickly. I think it's going to stick this time. No, really. I mean it. Nothing says cozy like knitting in the Fall.
I'm going to make this recipe for pork chops in the crock pot. With or without cranberries...I haven't decided yet. Then these biscuits. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect biscuit recipe. If you have one and want to share, I'll love you forever. Afterwards I'm going to bake this pumpkin cake.
After all that hard work, I'm going to curl up on the sofa, knitting needles in hand and watch When Harry Met Sally.
That's my idea of cozy. What's yours?
My go to biscuit recipe came from Southern Living years ago. It's easy too since it uses self rising flour.
ReplyDelete2 cups sof wheat self rising flour
1/3 butter
3/4 cup buttermilk
Bake at 425 degrees for 12-14 min. Perfection! :)
By the way, I love your blog but I'm not sure I have commented before.
I do have a biscuit recipe. Basic, but it is the one I grew up with. Let me look for it and I will send it to you in an email.
ReplyDeleteOkay. Now I want to make biscuits.

my idea of cozy is a day nesting at home. sweatpants and a big sweatshirt and my fuzzy slippers. a hot mug of coffee in the morning and a big pot of chili on the stove. i love cozy days.
ReplyDeleteSounds heavenly. I don't knit, but I do crochet (only basic stitches), but I find it so relaxing and love to do it with a movie in. I need to pull out last winter's project and finish it up!
ReplyDeleteYou're a lucky girl! I wish I were able to be home. My girl is on Fall Break and I have to work.:(
Sounds PERFECT to me! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteNow that sounds like a perfect fall day. Enjoy! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect Jen! I can't wait to see if you like that pumpkin cake - I can't imagine you wouldn't. I LOVE When Harry Met Sally!~ Love it! Enjoy your knitting dear.
ReplyDeleteShoot - is this the third comment I've left? I'm having technical difficulties!
ReplyDeleteJen- It sounds like an almost PERFECT day to me! Add blogging and it becomes absolutely perfect! hugs- Diana
ReplyDeleteCozy? In the 40's and 50's outside, in my flannel pajamas, reading a good book and my dog next to me on the couch.
ReplyDeleteBiscuits? Pillsbury Biscuits in the freezer section. Taste like homemade to this lazy baker.
Crochet? I can't wait to see the new scarf.
Movie? The Waitress.
xoxo, I'm jealous of your weather....Julia
Your day sounds so cozy & so does that meal!
ReplyDeleteMy idea of cozy is sitting in front of wood burning fireplace with a glass of hot spiced cider. An old movie (Black & White ideal) on the tv makes it perfect.
Sounds like the perfect cozy day. Mine would be similar, but I would sit in my chair by the fire and reading some magazines that have arrived and are sitting waiting for me.
ReplyDeleteNow you have got me wanting to cook! Everything sounds delicious. I am wanting to pick up crocheting again. I have a friend who can teach me, and fall would be the perfect time. Not quite so cool here yet. Have a great weekend. Jackie
ReplyDeleteknitting a garter stitch (so it can't mess up) and watching a chick flick...yeah, that's it!!!!
ReplyDeleteBaking and knitting - You are a one busy gal!

ReplyDeleteMy idea of cozy ... coming back home with Ernie after a nice long walk to a pot of coffee, and sitting with a new magazine ♥
Have a wonderful weekend xo

I wish it would get cold enough here for that "cozy" feeling. Some yummy flavored coffee and a good book sounds great to me. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteCozy to me...fire in fireplace, hot coffee , pajama pants, hooded sweatshirt, and my favorite movie of all time...Planes,Trains, and Automobiles.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day! Sounds divine.
We just watched When Harry Met Sally a couple of weeks ago... Still FUNNY after all these years...Sounds like a great evening to me.
ReplyDeleteWarm blessings,
Spencer
