Long Week
I'm so happy that the past two weeks are over. My endless painting to do list (front porch, doors, treehouse, trim, master bedroom, sitting room, hallway and entry) all done with the exception of a second coat on the outside front door.
The feeling of relief is overwhelming. My motivation was the promise of a rare treat mani/pedi next Friday and the promise of a holiday season without the weight of my to do list hanging over me. The bonus is that this place feels more mine every day.
Now I'm ready to think about Thanksgiving next week and the company we have coming in town. I'm ready to finish up some knitting projects and spend more time with people (and critters) I love.
I'm ready to tackle that stack of presents that is waiting to be wrapped, that pile of magazines and books waiting to be read and sit in front of that sewing machine that's been gathering dust. I'm ready to let the fun begin. Guilt free.

absolutely cannot wait to see your progress.
Um you forgot how you're ready to bake Sarah something yummy. I must have missed that when I was reading this post.
ReplyDeleteAlso what is Em knitting? I'm intrigued...
Good for you Jen. Now you can really enjoy the holiday season. This is my last weekend to finish up whatever loose ends I can and then I'm in holiday mode through the first of the year. I plan on savoring every moment, not over scheduling and being available for any imprompu visiting that may arise. Enjoy your company! Patty
ReplyDeleteYou got a lot accomplished! Enjoy next week.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh because I had two cats that looked just like these..they used to sleep all curled up together like this too. :D
ReplyDeleteYour critters sure are cute. Sounds like you could use a bit of quiet time. Make that sewing machine hum. Knit in comfy, cozy silence and page through those books/magazines. Enjoy the moment. :) And have a great weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI love that aqua door. Love it. Good job on tackling all those tasks. I have been in a running mode to get things done for a couple of weeks too. Not time to sleep. I am ready to be enjoying the Christmas movies and music, do some baking and lots of family time.
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful you have put your on mark on your new home. Now relax and enjoy your treats. Happy weekend. Bonnie

Every year I try not to stress and I admit it does get easier.
Glad your house is feeling like a home.
That sounds completely blissful!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the colour of the ornate door in your first photo.
