The Gift of Friendship

The other day I received an unexpected box in the mail from Shelly Kennedy of Drooz Studio. Shelly and I met through our blogs a few years ago (I don't remember who found who) and in 2009 we had the pleasure of meeting in person at Silver Bella. She is warm, beautiful and sweet. By the way, you can find her studio on the cover of the current issue of Where Women Create!

Don't you think unexpected packages are the best ones? They take your day from ho-hum to stunned happiness! I should have taken pictures of the gorgeous wrapping. The girls even suggested it, so I have no excuse, but instead I tore into that package before my brain even knew what my hands were doing. And I was rewarded for my efforts.

This bit of loveliness was waiting inside for me, complete with a miniature version of her art, which I have admired for ages. She made this necklace just for me and I'm still not sure why, but I am smart enough to know that if I ask too many questions she might ask for it back and I don't want that.

I have been so blessed by this blog for the past 5+ years and the friendships I've collected along the way mean so much to me. Thank you all for making my life a little brighter and I hope I can repay the favor.

And Shelly, thank you for gifting me with such a thoughtful, personal gift that I will always cherish.

  1. How fun!! That is really really cute! I wouldn't be doing anything to make her ask for it back either:)
I have that same glittered crown wand you do! I got it last summer at one of the shops that set up at Horton's of Tipton.
