Crafty Tuesday

Since I discovered the blogging world, I find that I really look at things differently. I also am drawn to things that I was never drawn to before. I'm always wondering what I could make with something or how I could recreate it or how I can take something and repurpose it for my own needs. Do you guys do that too? These are some recent great finds from Michael's and from Archiver's. If you haven't been in there, run don't walk, and go see it. Make sure you have plenty of cash because you know I have self control, but I'm not sure you do.

This is the 2nd journal I made. I really like this one. I'm sure I will do several more before it's over. Y'all just let me know when you are tired of lookin' at them.

Emma's 1st day of kindergarten pages. I have to tell you that I have not been scrapbooking long so please go gently on my technique!

  2. What lovely journals! That is a hobby I haven't dared to delve into... every time I start to buy scrapbooking supplies, I realize how much I've ALMOST spent, then I put it all back! =) You really have a talent for scrapbooking... and what a little cherub you have!

  3. Beautiful vibrant pictures - perfect for a cold, snowy day! We have a Michael's here in my town (love it), but I haven't heard of Archivers (buttons and ribbons look amazing). I love the cover of your journal and the button closure...and what sweet kindergarten pages.
Thanks for your kind birthday wishes!

  4. Jen, I think the scrapbook pages look beautiful, but in true older, been-there-done-that form, I will say that the technique isn't nearly as important as the actual documentation. I think your little girl is going to treasure what YOU have to say about the big day more than she will a perfect layout. I love everything you showed us today- so cute!

  5. You've done a great job on your journal and the scrapbook pages...very pretty! I'd like to try my hand at journal making sometime. It looks like it would be fun and the possibilities endless.

Loving those sweet buttons! I've been looking around on Ebay for some buttons to get a collection going. I have none!

  7. Those buttons look so pretty. I'm trying to increase my collection at the moment. I love the journal. I don't think it matters about technique. What you have produced is really lovely and something you will always treasure. I went and bought two scapbooks yesterday to start sorting all my magazine inspiration clippings. I can't wait to decorate them both. You've really inspired me.
