On the River

In the last few weeks we have taken a couple of Sunday morning trips to the White River and the nearby covered bridge. It's one of our favorite places. Sweet Hubby and I took a canoe trip on it a year and a half ago for our anniversary. It's usually very peaceful. Until we show up. On the last trip we enjoyed a picnic by the river and much silliness as documented in these photos. These pictures are very representative of how we are as a family. Anybody that knows Sweet Hubby will recognize that he is totally himself in these photos. And can I just tell you that this man fills my heart with love and laughter? He makes my heart sing!

We have less than 7 days left until school starts and with all the preparations involved and trying to squeeze in as much fun as possible before the big day, I may not be around much. I wanted to let you all know that I'm thinking about you and looking forward to having some extra time soon!

  4. You are a beautiful family, Jen!

If this is the White River in Arkansas, I have a happy memory of spending a few weeks there as a teenager. I was the guest of a friend and her family who rented a cabin there. There was a screened porch where we slept. We got out on the river in an old John boat and lost the oars and had other adventures! What fun we had and a great memory. Your mentioning White River made me remember! Thank you!

  12. Ah...the smell of a new box of crayolas...just love that smell. It has hit me that this is the first year in 20+ years that I have no kids in school. They are grown and on their own which is a happy thing and a sad thing. Enjoy your family, Jen, they are precious.
