Realities

Friday already you say? Well, how can that be? I'm a busy bee here, buzzing around doing lots, but finishing little. I hate that feeling of working so hard but not being able to mark things off my to do list. Juggling taxes, cleaning, organizing, appointments, confirmation, lacrosse, remodeling and projects is making me a little crazy this week. This picture is my reality right now. I'm feeling so inspired to create and having no time or energy left for it. Supplies just waiting for me, calling to me when I walk by.

You can see some of my to do lists in this picture, just waiting for the time when I can clear that table and get busy but today I will be cleaning, ironing and doing some organizing. I'll also be finishing Em's bookshelf and I have a secret to tell you. I didn't hate painting it. Not even a little. I learned that it's all about the right tools and techniques. For me that means primer, a foam roller, Benjamine Moore White Dove paint in aqua pearl finish (thanks to all of you that recommeded it) and letting each coat cure for a day. I'm actually looking forward to painting her dresser next week. But first I'm going to take some time for creative fun and these guys are on the top of my list.

  1. I love Martha's crafts! I so need a trip to Michaels...

I got up today and thought I'd get to do a little scrapbooking, but it wasn't meant to be. It has been over a year since I have done some and I'm overwhelmingly behibd in my photos...Sigh...

I hope you have more luck than me!!

  3. Hi, Coming out of my lurking place to ask a quick question. I love the hanging pom-poms. How are these made...is there a kit, a book or a link you can refer me to. I would love to make these for my daughter's room. Thank you.

  9. I really can't wait to see Em's desk! I love the sound of the Aqua Pearl paint. Your technique with the roller and 23-hr+ cure time between coats is the technique I used on my cabinets nearly 5 years ago and they've held up wonderfully!

By the way...I think our desks were separated at birth....

  10. Hi Jen,

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I am still sick but hoping it will get better. This flu has wiped out my family and allot of people around here. I tell you that I want it gone for good. My desk looks just about the same and I do not know when I will get back to work.

    Waaaaa. me crying!

  14. you picked white dove! I had to go back to the older post to see who else recommended it ~ looks like I'm in good company!

we actually just purchased another gallon today to finish painting the kitchen cupboard doors; a project my husband was adamently against, and one that I started oh, over a year ago, and haven't finished. it would have much easier to do it NOT 7 months pregnant! but, now he's helping me, so I guess it worked out for the best ;) the color for the inset-portion of the cabinets is Benjamin Moore spring morning, and I love, love, love it; a really soft yellowy-green. once we're all finished, I'll post photos.

your daughter's room is just precious. I can't wait to finish up a couple of projects so I can start decorating our nursery.

thank you, by the way, for your sweet comment the other day :)
