I have always been a sucker for white slipcovers & since I'm almost ready to move on to my next decorating project, the study, I'm doing my homework. It was an easy decision to do choose this room next because there is so little that needs to be done here. Window treatments and slipcovers. Easy and fast but not inexpensive projects. I'm in the dreaming stages and looking at every picture I can find for slipcover inspiration. I thought you might want to see what's inspiring me. There's more to consider than I realized, fabric type, color is a no-brainer, pleats, length, details, fit and durability are just some that come to mind.

My favorite color is white--pristine, pure, just the best! You cannot go wrong with it!
ReplyDeleteoh, I love white too! But it will not survive around my family for long... I love your photos - so lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love all your inspiration pictures. I really love the stool slipcover.....looks like burlap with a white ruffle.....just the kind of mixture I love :-)

I would love to have white slipcovers on the wing chairs in the hearth room...but those are Molly's favorite chairs. They might be off more than they're on!
ReplyDeleteI think white slipcovers are fabulous!

Those are all soooo beautiful, but I would only be able to have those in my home with a locked door LOL Whatever you decide, it will be perfect because you have such great taste :)

Gorgeous inspiration photos, can't wait to see what you do! Sometimes I dream about more white furnishings/decor for our home, but it never seems doable for so many reasons (except for maybe in our bath, which has been pretty successful).
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! It made my day finding you.
ReplyDeleteI love that crisp white.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great pictures.

LOVE LOVE LOVE white slipcovers! I am working on a re-do of our family room and I want off white duck fabric, washable due to 3 children and puppy - can you buy these or must they always be made? I don't like the purchased ones with straps for tying into bows, I like the ones in your pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhite was once my least favourite colour - then I had a daughter who LOVED the colour white and did her entire room in shades of white :-} It was like a breath of fresh air in our home. She is moving into her own apt this summer and a trip to Ikea is on our agenda to pick up a white sofa and chaise just like the ones in your photos :-}
ReplyDeleteOne day I see color and I want color. Then I see this and I'm reminded of why I chose an all-white decor. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteJen. I love those inspiration pics. I always wonder if white slipcovers are as easy to keep clean as everyone claims. I hope so, cause they sure make the pics look gorgeous. I'll check back to see your progress.

Hey Jenn,
ReplyDeleteDefinately a strong color to decorate with. I did a clients bedroom in all white linen a while back. It is so fun, romantic and light. You will love it.
find a good workroom for the slipcovers. Thats key. Alot of furniture makers are doing slips( if you are buying new) I absolutely love Lee Industries for my clients, Awesome selection, middle of the road pricing, and hello- tear them off and throw them in the wash- the best evah..
Ive got slips in the living room on both sofas, and I am constantly washing them, ( those small peeeps that live with me) although they are butter yellow, same thing..
Cant wait to see the finished product!
Go Jenn Go Jenn!!

Oh how luxurious white always looks! Too bad I have two babies, a dog and a husband. I can only dream of white furniture!! But it is all so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe white is so fresh and inviting. Thank goodness for slip covers. I look forward to seeing the finished room. Thanks for the inspiration. Heather
ReplyDeletewhite cotton duck or denim make great slipcovers for spring and summer remember to pre-wash fabric first.
ReplyDeletePleats add a more custom and detailed look...They only get better with wear and wash... Fay
Doing white slipcovers in the study is a great idea. I think that's a room that probably doesn't get a lot of day to day traffic. Yet it gets enough use to really enjoy the cozy comfort of white on white. So classy and chic, too! I would love to see the pictures of it when you're done!
ReplyDeletePatricia :o)
White is my very favorite color. :o)
ReplyDeleteDid you see the white slip covered chair in Country Living? It was done with an old white chenile (sp??) beadspread. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI would sooo love white, please share where you find your slipcovers! Oh to be able to WASH your sofa cover!! :)
love your blog, so full of inspiration!
I just love your blog! Your beautiful photos and posts are always uplifting and so light and bright. Thank you! ~Jann

I love all those pictures. White is my secret favorite color. I did my kitchen in all white and with 5 kids that wasn't the safest choice but I love it!!
ReplyDeleteJen,
ReplyDelete::sigh::
My dream is to have an all-white decorated house. Most of the decor posts on my blog are about white rooms, as a matter-of-fact. I have attempted it before and failed miserably at the first step....painting the walls. If you figure out how to choose the perfect shade of white paint, please tell me. Seriously.
Happy weekend!
So fresh! I love the box pleats at the bottom on the chair with ties on the back and that burlap-linen ottoman. OH YUM!!!

ReplyDeleteout blog hopping, found your wonderful blog! I would SO love to do a white room. But with 6 males in and out of the house, I just don't see it in my future. Will enjoy following your progress though!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love that second photo, Jenn! I am a sucker for white slipcovers, too. Crisp, classic and so versatile. Keep us posted with your project! You have such good taste!
ReplyDeleteGive me any of those chairs and I would be a happy person. Just got back from a beach vacation and wish I was still there. I loved every minute and now I am wanting to add something like one of those chairs to escape in and recapture our beach memories.
