So, I've been thinking about starting a fashion blog, but then I thought maybe it would be too much to keep up with a 2nd blog when I'm actually working to simplify my life right now. Maybe I should just post fashiony (that's a word right?) things here when I feel like it. I'm wondering if you guys even have any interest in the fashion ramblings of an almost-middle-age-bargain-hunting-momma. So what do you think? Also, I realize I'm going to have to invest in a tripod and figure out the timer on my camera. Also, I realize I need to clean my mirrors. Also, I'm thinking all of those adolescent months spent practicing how to raise an eyebrow like John Black on Days of Our Lives paid off.
Hat: Margeaux Hat from Anthropologie $38- A real splurge for me but it makes me smile every time I put it on and for some reason it makes other people smile more at me. Plus it makes me look sweeter than I actually am and I find that I get better bargains when I wear it to the flea market. I think it's already paid for itself.
Shoes: Madden Girl from TJ Maxx on clearance for $20. I adore them. Cute with jeans, cute with skirts. Heck I think they'd even look cute with my jammies.
Hi Jen... I think that would be great, I would love to see some "fashiony" posts on your blog. Love that hat, and I'm sure you are as sweet as it makes you look.
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! Love the raised eyebrow... I've never been able to do that.
Well, I loved your post a couple of months ago about the coat you were longing for. I absolutely think you should post about your fashion finds or fashion longings:)

Oh, I forgot the most important thing ... LOVE THE HAT!!!
ReplyDeletemelissa
Love that adorable margeaux hat from Anthropologie!! I have a blog award for you :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Melissa! You are so lucky because you get to come to the flea market with me and see the magic of the hat in person. I bet it will even rub off on you. I can't wait to see you in Feb! Jen
ReplyDeleteGreat hat, great photo!
ReplyDeleteHi, Jen,
ReplyDeleteI too would enjoy more posts on "fashion finds". So I say..Move forward fashionista!
I would love to see some fashion on your blog because you always have cute stuff.
ReplyDeleteMy 2 cents: I come to your blog to see what you have to say, not just necessarily to see the pictures you post. The pictures are always good too, you just have such a clever way about posting. So mix it up, and we will still come to see what it is you say.
oh, and you look adorable in the hat,!
Girl. Go back and edit your post...take out the almost-middle-aged part...that is so not you. Insert something about how you really feel...YOUNG, HIP and SEXY! Love the hat...you look seriously like one of the models from Victoria Magazine. I personally don't care what you write about...just don't fold on us...I'd be crushed. Love it all. :)
ReplyDeletei'm so happy to have found you!
ReplyDeletei think a fashion blog is lovley!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea but can understand about the clean mirrors! ;) I was wondering about your pretty necklace.
ReplyDeleteOkay, you have to hook us all up with some fashion tips. I love the pic and that hat...well, I could just swoon over that one.
ReplyDeleteI love that hat! I'm just never brave enough to wear them because I think I look silly in them. You on the other hand, look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYour hat is aDORABLE! Love the shoes, too! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletesimply ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteI like all the "also"s (how DO you spell the plural of "also"??)!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I once bought a beautiful black sweater from Anthropology & at $78, it was a total splurge for me. It's longish, lightweight, with one delicate snap & a tie waste, it goes with everything & is easily the most versatile piece of clothing I own. Also, it was the ONE piece of clothing that continued to fit through my entire 60-pound-weight-gain prengnacy.
Sometimes they're just worth the money, no?
also, I was reading the other comments, and I completely agree that you look like a Victoria Magazine model. there was a quality to the photo that I couldn't pin-point, but I think that was it. love it!
ReplyDeleteSo funny! What is up with John Black's eyebrows??? I haven't thought about that in years:-) Your hat is too adorable and love those shoes.
ReplyDeleteGlorious! And we all love a little bit of fashion stuff.
ReplyDeleteI love your new hat! So adorable!
ReplyDeleteoh, you asre just too cute! I love the hat and the shoes. I'm not a person who looks good in hats, yet I love, so I'm really coveting your cuteness right now!
ReplyDeleteBring on the fashion ideas, cause I am could a use a little spruce up myself. Love the hat, last year I discovered my love of the hat. Not only does it keep my noggin warm, but it can add a little something, something.
ReplyDeleteLOVE fashion!!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay - so I probably posted the best and funniest post I have ever done on my blog...my riding lesson photographed! ..and don't laugh so loud that I might hear you!
Have a great week!
You are even sweeter than that darn cute hat makes you look.
ReplyDeleteyou just crack me up!
ReplyDeleteyou are entirely too cute in your anthro hat

oh & cute shoes with jammies will be all the rage

ReplyDeleteoh i NEED THOSE SHOES!!! and you look great in the hat/cap/anthro thingy...really, very chic! i would love fashiony posts. i love made-up words too. "funner" is way better than "more fun"..."more fun" is BORING! also...john black...girl...yer killin' me! i'm a y&r fan but i was a days fan many years ago...ha, ha! did you ever remember joey on friends saying that when the soap opera scene ended he just pretended like he was wondering..."who farted?" to get that look? now that's all i ever think about when i see those soap opera looks. well...yer bee-utiful! blessings!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! Yay for you! I loved that Hello Kitty Popcorn Popper and am so happy you got it! I thought that if it went on sale at Target after Christmas I would go get it! :) Happy popping!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI say .. yea. do the fashiony thingy.. sounds fun.

Lisa LYnn
PS.. LOve the hat.. My youngest dd is forever buying old hats .. like from the 50's and wearing them to church.. she has a good Hat Face too...
It made me smile too.
ReplyDeleteI think it is so strange how clothes affect ourselves and others!! But kids have done scientific experiments that prove it!! It affects (hmm, or is it effects???)how you are treated by others, how others perceive you etc. AND I never (well , hardly ever, think about this)---although I do a lot more housework if I have jeans on---so I should know that it does affect my own attitude!!
Both things are cute ;-)
So cute. Must stop coveting!
ReplyDeleteOh How Lovely!!
ReplyDeleteAren't you just so beautiful and vintage inspired?? LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!
Rhonda
oh my goshness... I LOVE that hat... and thoes shoes... *envy* I love everything that looks slightly old fashioned... my best friend says I could go shopping with his grandmother... I find that hillarious!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog... I will be back
OMG the John Black comment has me giggling. My sister and I used to watch that show and then call each other gasping about what a "FABULOUS" actor John Black was, what with that eyebrow and all...lol. Too funny. I love your hat!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Do you say "that's a fact" a lot too? Hee!
ReplyDeleteI thought about a "fashiony" blog as well but since I love so many things I just blog about it all!! I say go with it and post about fashion whenever you feel like it and I'll be reading it. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, I found your blog through Warm Pie, Happy Home blog. I love your hat. Did you buy it or make it? If you made it I would love to get or buy the pattern. Do you know it's source? BTW, I love your fashion info.
