Me and The Farm Chicks? We go way back. Well, that is to say that my admiration, respect and all out obsession for them goes way back. If you do a Farm Chicks search on my blog, no less than 6 posts will show up. 7 now, I guess. Clearly I love them. They are 2 of the sweetest, most talented women I've ever met and I was so surprised and thrilled when they sent me an advance copy of their new book. It came right before I made a 10 hour drive to North Carolina and I poured over every word of it. Do any of you actually read cookbooks? I thought I was the only one but Serena tells me that she does it too.
The book is warmly written and you'll feel you have a real sense of who Teri and Serena are by the time you're done with it. They are such encouraging, engaging, creative ladies. This book isn't just a cookbook but also has wonderful, simple projects that will have you smacking your head and saying why didn't I think of that? See all those blue flags poking out of the top of the book? Those are many of the recipes and projects that I'm just dying to try. If you want, you can go over to Amazon and preorder it. I know if I didn't already have a copy it would be at the top of my wish list. Me? I'll be in the kitchen trying to decide which recipe to make first.
I will look for their book, Jenn. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeletePure heaven is curling up with a cookbook and a cup of coffee. I read all of my cookbooks nearly cover to cover - I usually skip the desserts since I'd rather just have vanilla ice cream in a cake cone.
ReplyDeleteAnxiously awaiting this book. I love those girls and am quite jealous that you got an advance copy! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm out of the loop!! I've not heard of "The Farm Chicks". Can't wait to check them out!
ReplyDeleteI got to go to their show at the Spokane Fairgrounds this year! It was so fun! Crazy amount of people though! :)

ReplyDeleteThanks so much! We're so glad you like the book!

I'm a big cookbook nerd, too. My mom was appalled that the book I was reading before bed was a new cookbook I got for Christmas. Sounds like a great book. I've been hearing a lot of buzz about it lately. I'll be sure to check it out.
ReplyDeleteReading cook books is one of my favorite past times. I especially love cookbooks embellished with stories, projects, and helpful hints. I'll have to order a copy for myself.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, my sister and I make a 6 hour trip (each way) every year to go to The Farm Chicks annual show!! We find fun treasures! We love those girls! I can't wait to get a copy of their book!!

I can't say that I read cookbooks, but I definitely read through them, over and over. I am super happy for you to get such a wonderful gift, you are very deserving.
ReplyDeletealso, I want to thank you, because I get many people visiting me through your blog. so a big hug and a super big THANK you!!
I love the Farm Chicks too and have their cookbook on my "to-get" list, although I must confess I'm not much of a cook anymore. The older I get the fewer calories I need to keep going - despite the fact that I run full tilt most of the time.... :0) We do love just good home cookin' though, and farm chick are all about homey.
