It's so hard to tear myself away, which was kind of nice while Sweet Hubby was out of town this week. Now he's home and he'll expect some attention and maybe even dinner so I guess I'll have to drag myself out of there. He's so demanding.
Would you believe I go in my studio first thing every morning and last thing every evening?
It's like I have to say good morning and good night.
It is the place in my house where I feel the happiest.
I think it's time to start expanding into the rest of the house and adding more personality there as well. My whole family loves spending time in this room as much as I do so I'm sure they would love to feel the studio magic spread all around them.
It was 3 years ago tomorrow that Sweet Hubby bought me that green work table pictured above and a studio was born. I will be forever grateful.
I have a lot of things to share in the next week: Christmas decorations, estate finds, surprise gifts, my Christmas wish list and best of all... a surprise interview and giveaway that will make 5 of you very happy!
Oh, I'm in love with your studio! I don't have room for a studio in my home, so the dining room must suffice. Can I come and play in your studio? ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful studio you have. Unfortunately mine is just a cubby in my otherwise library. Yours is too pretty!!
ReplyDeleteJo
I love your studio!
ReplyDeleteSo many sweet things.....
ReplyDeleteOh, and Cousin Deb, love the crown!
I'm so glad that you shared these photos...I've only seen glimpses before & have been curious to see what the whole room looks like. It doesn't disappoint! Such eye candy! I can see why you spend so much time there.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see some of your creations, if you are willing to share.
I look at the studio and remember whiling away the minutes with you while your hubby yells from downstairs that the family is about to starve to death. Demanding is RIGHT! ;)
ReplyDeleteHeavenly!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your Studio Jen! The daybed looks like the perfect spot to sit and journal & the colour of your work table is gorgeous ~ that perfect shade of green :-)I also noticed (and love) the Sparkly little bird hanging from the ceiling! Next week's posts sound wonderful too ♥ Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeletewhat a pretty room ... I would want to stay in it too. I think I spend most of my time in my craft room ... it has yellow walls and red toile drapes and seat cushions.... mmmmm makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteOOOHHHH....a beautiful studio indeed. I am going to head down to my barn studio here in about 1/2 an hour with the girls....I have had a collage in my head for a week....M.U.S.T. create!!!!! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJen - me too. I turn on the lights in my studio when I come downstairs in the morning before I even hit the kitchen for the kids breakfasts. And I am turning the light off right before bed. I feel alive in that room..I accomplish what I love in there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the wonderful comments you have left for me about hubby's deployment. I appreciate such kind and understanding words.

I know just how you feel, I always want to be in my studio first thing in the morning and last thing at night too!
ReplyDeleteI love it that you call it a 'studio'. The table is perfect. I love the sun coming in on the rolls of paper. I would want to spend all my time in there with steaming cups of mochas and teas.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky. :-)
Now, imagine the studio you'll have in the Village. Sigh.
cute studio. I wish mine had a little day bed in it - would make my afternoon naps so much easier :)
ReplyDeleteJen, it is beautiful. I want to spend hours looking in all the nooks and crannies, at all your ribbons, papers, and trinkets. Your inspiration board looks like a work of art in itself. It definately deserves a good morning and goodnight!
ReplyDeleteYour studio looks so wonderful. I would start my day there and end each day thee as well.

ReplyDeleteyour studio is absolutely gorgeous. i love all the treasures. i would have a hard time staying out of there too.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what even a tiny space, with an individual's own personal "stamp", can do for one's well-being. Your studio is great, Jen...and your comments about how you feel in that space sure hit home. How nice of you to share!
ReplyDeleteJEN,
ReplyDeleteLOVE your studio! I love that green on your desk and chair. I have a similar green paint on our kitchen chairs.
Holiday hugs to you,

Really pretty, Jen! Isn't it nice to have a space that's all your own? I know mine makes me happy... when it isn't knee-deep in catch-all clutter like it is now!
ReplyDeleteJenn,
ReplyDeleteI just love your studio!
I have a brother that lives in Fishers, too. I have never been to visit (it doesn't sound like I am missing much!) He has been here as lot, as he has cancer and has been going to Mayo...and is doing quite well.

Yep, I agree. Studio time is a must. Yours looks very inviting and I can see why you love it so much.
ReplyDeleteOk, how in the world is your studio so neat and tidy?! Mine looks like a tornado and a hurricane have gone through it right now:) I figure I will clean after all of my Christmas projects are done ... he he he ... at least that is what I am telling myself. You have my curiosity peaked! Who are you interviewing, and of course I can't wait to hear about your giveaway!!!

Your studio is so sweet! I bet you do spend a lot of time there. What a great place to call your own!
ReplyDeleteI have s small outbuilding right behind our 200 year old house and this summer we're converting it into a studio for me. I am so excited. Can't decide on what to paint the walls, either pale pink, sky blue or white with white slipcovered couch. Decisions!

What's not to love?? I would go in there often as well, just to stare at all of your pretties!!
ReplyDeleteYour studio is absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing! Great studio.
ReplyDeleteMy studio tends to catch "overflow junk" from the rest of the house - plus the laundry room is in there, too. I love yours. I need to pull out a paint brush, some trash cans, and get to work!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteJust want to tell you I love your studio. I am in the planning stages of making our extra bedroom into some sort of studio. Right now it's a real junke room. I can see why you are so happy there.

ReplyDeleteI also love my studio! We just built it last spring in our backyard. I have to walk through the yard each morning and have windows that look out over the yard. I have a lot of gardening plans for this spring, and will see nature's beauty each time I look out the windows. It's a great place to nurture creativity!
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to tell you that your studio is soo charming! I can see why you feel so good there.
ReplyDeleteI am working on getting mine organized and started with a few black folding tables and a bunch of rolling plastic carts with drawers and now seem to be leaning towards mixing a bunch of white with that along with other cheerful colors I am sure. I picked up a nice bathroom cabinet at a thrift shop today (similar to what is in Michaels to organize scrapbook/craft stuff in) and paid probably 1/4 cost of Michaels, so yeah for the trying to save a few bucks side.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
God Bless,
Julie
Such an inspiring place to create!
ReplyDeleteI love your Studio!
Marce,
