Must See

Happy Day! Today is my last day before everyone is back at their regular schedules. I have 2 down and 1 to go. Today is what we in this house call a Momma/Emma day and she has big plans for me so I thought I'd post really fast before she wakes up.

This week I thought I'd focus on subjects that might be fresh on your mind for the new year. If any of you have vowed to spend more time and effort on your marriage, I highly recommend going to see It's Complicated on your date night. We saw it last night and we both loved it. The set design is perfection, so cozy, relaxed and beautiful. I wanted to memorize every bit of it. You can go to Traditional Home to see more. The story was great. I laughed until I cried and I'll admit I might have snorted a few times. Plus the Alec Baldwin character totally reminded me of my brother-in-law. Love you Matt!

Also, thanks for all of the sweet comments and emails about Choosing Joy. As one sweet friend pointed out, it can be very difficult to remember these new goals and choices on a daily basis in our busy lives, so I've decided to put it in my sidebar as a reminder to myself each time I open my blog. Feel free to grab the button from my blog if you wish, or make one for yourself as your own personal reminder.

Apparently I was too slow in getting this post done as the little one just came downstairs and handed me this:

Seriously, how could I say no to that?

  19. Jen - Somehow you have the same things on your mind that I do...

Guess what my plans are for this week's Date Night? See "It's Complicated." I'm not sure my husband will be as enamored with it as I already know I will, but I think he'll go for it.

I love the looks of the house and saw that article as well. Browsing over the weekend, I found a blog called "HookedonHouses.net" -- the author posts all kinds of great houses, including many, many movie houses, like my other all-time favorite, "Something's Gotta Give." Worth a peek.

P.S. I've reconnected with Dee via Facebook. Are you on there yet? I've looked but can't find you. However, I'm not the most efficient FB user around. I just joined in November -- after I had older relatives using it and I felt like the dinosaur of technology!

  28. I can't wait to see that movie-- it looks so good.

Love the little ones note along with the large recap at the bottom--what a funny, sweet kid.

My girls and I did something similar before school started again. They called it FUN DAY. We went to the local antique mall, out to lunch and a second-hand store. It took most of the day, we had so much fun bopping around store together and we each found a few treasures to take home.

Hope you two enjoy your day together and had the best day ever!

  31. I'm glad you say this is a good "date night" movie. If I can't get a girlfriend to go, I'll drag my husband. He's always down for a good chick flick... as long as I swear upon penalty of death not to tell anyone.
    Keep that note. Forever.

Alec B. cracked me up and the son-in-law (who my daughter loves from The Office) was so funny too. I loved her home... i want to live there and her bakery was gorgeous! Can you tell I loved the movie?
