One day til we move. ONE DAY! I'm currently lounging on my mattress and box springs which are currently residing smack in the middle of my room. I spent a good portion of the morning watching Martha Stewart cupcake segments on our cable's On Demand. I may have to break down and get her Cupcake cookbook. By the way, I still miss her old show and format and love that you can now catch it on the Hallmark Channel. The new show just doesn't compare to me. Which do you prefer?
I'm now officially starving from watching all of that sugar goodness but I'm enjoying this last chance I'll ever have to lounge in bed in this room. I'm a mixed bag of emotions today. I'm walking a tight rope of feelings and there is a good chance I'm going to lose my balance.
I wanted to take this moment to wish you all a happy weekend. After today my only internet access will be at the Village coffee shop until Monday, a good excuse to have a lemon scone, my newest culinary indulgence. I hope to update you all soon.

I hope the move goes smoothly for you! If I lived closer I'd be meeting you at that coffee shop for sure....a scone sounds yummy right about now!

I'm so excited for you, Jen! Moving is so very, very hard, though, isn't it? You get all excited about moving to a new place, but get sad about giving up the old place. It is a very emotional time.
ReplyDeleteHope the move goes smoothly, and you get all settled in as quickly as you can.
Beth. :)

ReplyDeleteHave an easy, smooth move this weekend. I agree about Martha - I really loved the old show - the new one, not so much.
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes sure look good!
Take a deep breath! I hope everything goes as planned with your move and that you will be all settled in to your new "temporary" home very soon!
ReplyDeleteKat :)

congratulations!
I sooooo understand those emotions! And know that we are all here for you cheering you on! Have a great weekend and don't push yourself too hard! :)
ReplyDeleteOh and I agree with you on MS shows. I liked the "teaching" format better. The new one is like a talk show with cooking, not my thing. And those lemon scones sound DELIGHTFUL! :)

I know the feeling, it is sad leaving a place that has truly touched your heart. One thing I do, is enter each room, picture all of the wonderful experiences that were had there, and bring your hands in to your heart capturing each one. You will always have those memories to take with you. Go to each room and do this. It may bring tears, but it gives such a sense of closure. Then you will be ready to take that next big leap! Good luck and best wishes!!
ReplyDeleteONE DAY!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this adventure. :)
Jen...I'm so excited for you to finally be moving! Limbo is almost over. Now the hard/but fun work begins....turning that rental into a "cottage nest" and walking to that lemon scone!
ReplyDeletePlease endulge us with lots of pictures. I can't wait to see what you do with this place.
BTW...I grew up without a dishwasher and the 3 of us girls took turns...clear the table, wash the dishes, dry and put away. I always loved when it was my turn to wash. Weird, I know! But I love the warm water and bubbles.
Oh Happy Day! Make your move fun and enjoy that scone!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen,
ReplyDeleteI haven't posted in awhile and just read your exciting news of where you are going. I love that place. In the late 70's, we almost bought a house west of your area, but ended up in Indy. You will love it there and I am so happy to hear that you are following your dream. So many people put it off and than sometimes its too late. Of course, you must visit the town's famous artist.
I know the emotions you are going through - I went through them 13 yrs ago when I left Indy. I am happy I followed my dream too. Good luck with the move.
Hugs,
Connie
I LOVED the old Martha Stewart Living show from the mid - late 80's. She was on Sunday morning at 10am followed by Bob Villa's Home Again at 10:30 and my husband and I would faithfully watch and then go and re-do something (be it garden or house) totally inspired :-) Good Luck tomorrow with the move xo
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the move. Just think of all the good stuff in the new house! I love the pics below and the kitchen cabinets are precious! I can see lots of Shabby in there?
ReplyDeletetoodles...julie

i liked the old old martha shows best.
Good luck with your move! I agree about Martha. The new show in front of a live audience isn't the same. I loved the old format. I would plan a break with a cup of tea and watch her show. It was so calming to listen to her.
ReplyDeleteenjoy your calm! I am sure things will be crazy for awhile!
ReplyDeleteI adore cupcakes and I'll take Martha any which way!I think she rocks!
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well in your relocation.

The old Martha is the best...in her little studio on Turkey Hill. I miss Turkey Hill! I want to live there. I have a book about it and it fantastic!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your new adventure!
One more thing...this blog is in Swedish, but sometimes she posts in English (or you can have your browser translate it) but I think you would love it...

Jen! You are living village life now. How exciting!!
ReplyDeletePre-pokey Martha was awesome. Never missed it. Loved the cooking, loved the gardening. I watched her new show once. Once was enough. I just don't think she's cut out for talk show host. I had no clue I could see the oldies on Hallmark....thanks for the tip!
I hope your village lives up to all your dreams, my friend!
Wishing you all the best in this new adventure of your life. I hope you'll have a smooth moving.
