This month brings us full circle in our journey to live here. It was this time last year that we first started visiting regularly.
One year since we felt our hearts pulled to this place that felt more like home than any place I have ever been.
The days of second guessing ourselves and questioning whether or not we made the right decision are gone. Our girls are thriving here. Our lives are thriving here.
I love it more each day. There are days when this house and being renters drives me crazy but... I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. All we have to do is walk out our door to be reminded why we came.
There have been so many times that we have just stopped in the middle of town and looked around in awe that this is our life. That this thing that started out as what felt like an out of reach dream, is now our life. I can't even tell you what a powerful feeling it is. I hope you will pick one of your dreams and work on making it come true.
I love that you followed your dream, acting on them is something many don't do. I hope to act on my dream as well. Happy Thursday

What a great thing you are doing! And so worth it when you see your family thriving because of the change!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you....it sounds lovely there.

Jen- I am sooo happy that you are happy. I came upon your blog just when you were moving...and it sounded a bit sad, a bit uncertain. Yet, here you are just a few months later and happier than you have ever been. I have been trying to figure out exactly where your Village is. I think Indiana? Is it actaully called The Village or is it a little town? Whatever it is ...it makes me want that kind of life too. What a blessing...and how wonderful for your children.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday to you, dear lady- Diana
This is the kind of place I want to live. I want a community, not an angry little city like the one I currently live in. I think it is so wonderful that your family made the change and that you are all happier because of it. I hope to do the same and get out of the area I live in. Thanks for the inspiration! Take care :-)
ReplyDeleteYou have found what so many of us want. Community. Enjoy every moment!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you! Someday we'll move to an adorable little town up by the Lake Erie islands. Someday!
ReplyDeleteJenn, how inspiring. I am new to your blog but quickly catching up. How amazing that you followed your dream and actually packed up and moved to a new place. Sounds to me like you were "called" there. I think that about where I live too. It was meant for us to be here.

Hmmmm...Well, the dream I'm picking is to see this Village with my own two eyes. Can you make that dream come true???
ReplyDeleteJen...so happy with your contentedness. Just wondering if those are your hairy legs in the last picture? Thought maybe that was a Village trend.....and if so, I would so fit in there.
ReplyDeletexoxo, Julia
So inspiring. We hope to live in a community like this someday too- there's one in Arizona called Agritopia that I would love to live in....but both of our entire families live in this little city we currently call home...so for now we stay put while our girls grows up near family. We might feel differently about jumping on the move train if we were all spread out though!
ReplyDeleteJennyJo, I just can't wait to scoot up to the coffee shop with you, and will you bring me to Anthro - I hope you are sitting down - I've never been there. I'll make ya some french toast if you do? I'm so glad you are loving your life. When I saw your face last week - it was written all over it. xo
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOODNESS - WE'RE LIVING THE SAME DREAM! Albeit accross the world from each other! I moved to the English countryside from London in January, after YEARS of being a heel wearing city girl. We did it the crazy way and bought the house first - but we absolutely LOVE it. Like you, we have an event almost every week (the children had their Harvest Festival celebration this morning - SO cute). My friends thought we were mad, or simply 'playing' and I'm still searching for my "unique home based business idea", now that the children are settled. However, it's the best thing we ever did (as well as starting my blog about it) - and there's no going back for us! Good luck and well done to you too - it looks AMAZING! xxx p.s. I will follow you avidly to compare notes from accross the pond!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! I'm so happy for you and your family that you have found your "home"! I can so relate and it is indeed a wonderful feeling. I loved where you said that it makes is hard to go anywhere!- I understand that feeling too!
ReplyDeletehappy weekend!
joan
your village is alot bigger andcleaner than ours here in north wales!
ReplyDeleteA blast of nostalgia. We went to this nearly every year we lived in Carmel. I miss it :) I still have the plastic cups from the insurance agency that passes out lemonade and pictures of my kids on the carnival rides.
