Dreams Can Come True

I have dreamed of owning a scooter since way back in the day when I was a Suburban Princess. I may even have mentioned it a time or two. It was a dream that I thought I might fulfill one day. Much like my dream of moving to the Village. I'm starting to believe that when you have a dream you need to announce it, to send it out there into the world and see what happens. I am starting to think I am the poster child for Dreams Can Come True.

This scooter and a red one just like it for Sweet Hubby, were gifts from my Dad. We ride them almost every day, zipping around town looking for our dream cottage and feeling blessed. Daisy and Buster. Because doesn't everyone name their scooter? Well, apparently I name everything and maybe that is an issue I will have to explore further in counseling. For now, I'm too busy scootering. Yes, it's a word.

In other news, I've decided to choose a reader's blog each week to feature in my sidebar as a way of giving back to all of you. I wish I had more time to come and visit you each week. Sometimes I feel so guilty that I even think about giving up blogging. I thought this would be a way to honor all of you. This week we start with Janean at Old Sweetwater Cottage. If you look at the sidebar you will see Reader of the Week and clicking on that picture will you take you to the reader's blog.

  2. Love your blog. I just wanted to say, I feel guilty always peeping in your "house" and never saying hi. Just can imagine your little scooters running around town, what a great Dad huh? If I'm ever out your way I'm surely coming to see that beautiful town of yours.

  5. That does look like oodles of fun! If I lived in your kind of small town I'd probably love one too, as it is it would be quite the hazard riding one around here the way people drive!

  8. Oh my word! What kind of scooter is that?! Is it one where you need to get a different type of driver's license? I've been hinting around to get my dream scooter: a vintage baby blue Vespa... maybe if I'm good, Santa will bring me one this year.

  15. Sweet Jen - isn't it the most fun you've ever had in your entire life!? ha! I think it is. I love my scooter hard. You look so cute on yours. Scootering is absolutely a word, and so is 'scooterlicious' which I use to describe clothes, shoes or earrings that will look good as I'm scootering.

  23. Well-what fun to have a scooter! You look like you are having a ball with it. I suppose you will be using it to keep haunting the village until you find "your place". I think featuring someone weekly is a great idea. Hugs- Diana

  24. That scooter sure looks fun. And the color, love it. I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to drive a scooter around my place though... plus our wet, wet weather would kind of take the fun out of it.

  29. Jen, quick question, Do you know the name of the aqua colored paint in your old studio? I am switching my dining room into a sewing/craft room, and want to go with something cheery, and I have all sorts of aqua colors taped to the wall. It is hard settling on one. Yours looks good so I was just wondering. Jackie

  30. daisy looks superfun, miss jen!

i hear you about blogging. it can be really difficult finding the time and then i always feel behind, yet, i enjoy it. it's a different "behind" than being behind on laundry. is this rambling of mine making any sense?

putting dreams out there can be a good thing, can't it. i might have to do some more of that myself.

    happy scootin'!

  35. I have two blogs currently: quiltingwithjanet.blogspot.com and funkybabymine.blogspot.com, and would be just thrilled if you would feature either of them! One blog is about quilting, which is a passion of mine; while the other features all kinds of vintage treasures for sale, mostly of the household linens variety but other things as well.....
Hope you find your dream home while scootering around town!
