One for the Road

Making this trip to Paris and London happen has been a lot more work than I realized it would be. A lot more money, too. So many details to see to. Some of them fun, some of them not even a little. All of them worth the trouble. Or at least I hope so.

One of my favorite things was putting together our travel journals. Since, after we get back, we won't have much fun money for awhile, or ever, I think it's important that we remember every moment of this trip so that when we can't recall why we haven't gone out for dinner in 6 months, splurged on clothes that fit, or fresh fruits and vegetables, I can suggest we all pull out our journals and reminisce.

I put together this on-the-go journaling kit so we can start working on them while we are there. I'm sure we'll be adding plenty to them when we get home too, as we will need some form of entertainment to fill our days as we are smacked in the face with reality. For now we are going to focus on this exciting opportunity and reality can wait awhile longer.

  1. I'm coming to your house and stealing all your washi tape when you're not looking... just so you know.

  2. Oh, it will be so worth it! Travel is one of the most wonderful and important experiences in life, I think. And, it is so wonderful that you are introducing it to your children early on. It will widen their horizons.

  6. Great idea! And you have the perfect stapler for the project! That thing is one of my very favorite things. If we had a house fire it would be one of the things I'd try to save!

  9. Oh yeah! I almost forgot! You asked about my roses. I typed a big ol' response on my phone because I was on vacation only to notice you don't have your email attached. I always wonder if people know that or not? Anyway, here in Colorado we don't have a lot of bugs. We do have aphids (which are followed by a lot of ladybugs which my girls love and catch for me and put on my roses ;)) They are virtually maintenance free here. I do have to mound the mulch over the winter to keep it safe from cold temps. They also like a lot of water. I hope this helps!

  11. I'm hoping you spend lots of time blogging about this trip of a lifetime, too!

You are making memories and the journals will stir those memories back up for years to come.

It's just money. (I always say...and Chuck squirms when I say this.)
