Days Like This

Today is the kind of day that makes nice girls swear. I'm trying very hard to find the joy in it which can be hard to do when it is raining inside of your car, sloshing on you from the airbag areas and visor as you drive and you have to completely rearrange your day to rush said car to the car emergency room. On the bright side, we purchased the bumper to bumper extended warranty when we bought the car and they took pity on me at the dealership and gave me a loaner. Probably more because I gave them no choice, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. Also, I'm wearing happy clothes today and that somehow just helps. Although, if we're being honest, I will tell you that cherry rain boots and a bird shirt are probably not the uniform of choice of women who want to be taken seriously at car dealerships.

Since today I'm clearly made happy by pretty colors and fun prints, I thought it might be a good time to share this stack of swoon I found at Target. I could spend every last penny of our grocery money in the stationary aisle of Target. It's my danger zone. Lucky for me almost all of this loot was 1/2 price when I found it so now my family gets to eat and I get pretty stuff.

I'm going to have a quick lunch and park myself in the studio for further cheering up. Fingers crossed that when the dealership calls it is with good news, otherwise it will take more than Target pretties and bird shirts to bring me out of it.

  3. Dare I say the rain finally went away? Maybe?! I hope your day gets better! I wanted to throw things too when the skies opened up this morning just as they were moving in our {new to us} piano-boo!

  4. I hope your day gets better! Although I was laughing pretty hard when you said about the boots and bird shirt not being the uniform of choice for a car dealership. Funny stuff.

  6. I know what you mean about the stationary isle (or any isle for that matter) at Target...I have the "I need...I want...I must have" feeling come over me, especially accompanied by the word "Clearance". Come to think of it, I tend to want to buy things that are mentioned in your blog. Say for instance, the European stapler. Yep, just had to have one in blue plus the additional 10,000 staples. Doubt I'll ever staple that many things during the rest of my life, just made me happy to know I had them just in case I needed them. My husband thanks you for all of your fine influences. :o) Hope the dealership called with happy news!

  7. Jen,
Target is a dangerous place. I can go in there for two things and spend sixty dollars! Love the bird shirt! Where did you get it?

  9. Mmm...Target. Who doesn't love that place? I have a smash book and accessories and love them. Perhaps I'll have to visit my local Target and see what little paper pretties I'm missing for my book? Oh, dear.

I hope your car will be OK and that you won't be living on ramen noodle soup!

  14. Sorry about your rainy car. Hope it is fixed soon.

I am addicted to buying craft supplies. I haven't been able to actually use any for about 2 months since I lost my creative space to a "boomerang" child, but my husband just gave me a tiny corner of his studio today. I found things I forgot I had purchased and hope to use some of them tomorrow.
