I managed to sneak away from the never ending kitchen project to collect some things for our makeover. The pretties are keeping me focused and on task. I already know that my favorite part of this project is going to be displaying all of my colorful things on the open shelving. The image of that is what is getting me through the days right now.
This is what it looked like as of mid-day yesterday. It has actually come along a fair amount since then. I hit a point yesterday where I was sorry we ever started this project. Then 2 different friends came to see our progress and their reactions really brought me out of my renovation funk and I was able to see the progress rather than just all the work that is yet to be done.
And just to keep it real, here's what the other side of the room looks like. Did I mention that tomorrow I have company coming to stay with us for a few days?
yay jen!!! i'm so glad you splurged.
ReplyDeletethey are charming. so you.
i can't wait to see the finished product but i love that you share your journey to the end with us!
Can't wait to see how you set up your open shelving. What fun. Have fun hunting & gathering!
ReplyDeleteI got a good giggle out the "other half of the room". Blogging definitely allows for the cropping out of reality and the reality of renovation is a mess...somewhere. It is really coming along beautifully. Can't wait to see your vision come to life and of course, if your man says aqua, just smile and say I wish I had thought of that! Enjoy your company.
ReplyDeleteThe progress is amazing, seriously!! Come do my kitchen! May I ask where the fluted, scalloped nesting bowls are from? Love.
ReplyDeleteprogress - progress - progress! it's looking good...i'm obsessed with aqua right now myself...you are brave adding company to the mix...i'm too ocd for that!!

ReplyDeleteThe kitchen is beautiful, and it looks so big because of the horizontal planks and white color. I do love when a indoor home project is finished, though!
ReplyDeleteIt's so much fun finding treasures to decorate with! Love those knobs and good for you that you went back and got them! Your kitchen is coming along beautifully, even if the dining area has to hold the overflow. Brave girl for having company! Can't wait to see it all done, I just know it will be wonderful. xx
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I am with your visiting friends - it looks awesome!! I can totally see what it will look like - open shelves, all your pretties, just in time for the holidays?

ReplyDeleteI can already tell that your kitchen is going to be gorgeous and worth all the time and effort! I don't blame you for splurging on those cute knobs when you only had to buy 3 of them. Is that the cabinets that are going to be aqua? I love that color! Have fun with your company!

The kitchen is looking like it's going well. When you get in a funk and see only what's left, do you go back and look at the "before" pictures and see how much you've done? Sometimes remodelling is like children - when you are with them daily it's hard to see the changes until you look at old photos.
